It does if you class the start/end point being Mottram which is in Tameside which is part of Greater Manchester.

Well seeing as this is the most pedantic thread IN THE WORLD, Greater Manchester is not Lancashire. And prior to 1974 Mottram was in Cheshire I believe but I’m sure someone can tell me otherwise.

Anyway I’m off for a drive on the Sheffield bypass formerly known as the Mottram to Pontefract expressway :smiley:

Anyone heading to from Sheffield today mon 5 nov.
Woodhead is closed due to a lorry fire about 4 am.

Woodhead doesn’t go to Sheffield.
It runs Manchester to Barnsley.

But the road it connects to does take you down to Sheffield.

I would suggest it takes you UP to Sheffield if I was being pedantic

I am Yorkshire first, English second and British last. I am European too. Scotland Wales and England are in The United Kingdom whilst Northern Ireland is Joined to Ireland and not Britain. Great Britain contains Northern Ireland.
