I’ve had an informal interview today and landed myself a job as a full time relief driver, class 1 included, on general haulage. I’m not going to post who with just yet as they have their knockers (don’t most companies?). Bottom line is 10% more pay for 20% more hours , but with bonus scheme, n/o allowance and o/t paid (currently salaried) it starts to look hell of a lot better, not the best pay out there but certainly not the worst and they’re taking on a newbie class 1. I know I’m gonna be worked hard (currently on an easy 40 hour week
). They have reasonable kit, no R700s though
. Looks like they want a fair days work for a fair days pay, and I’m happy with that.
Good for you and I’m sure you’ll look good in green !!

but you got a Job
congrats mate like you say most places have people who will knock them and a jobs a job if your happy then best of luck to you!
I must admit I’ve found getting the new job extremely easy, I wouldn’t want to hazard a guess at how hard it would be newly qualified and unemployed. It does look like things are slowly picking up in W.Yorks, WH Malcolms is setting on as is Ken Mallinson and Aldi, I’ve not tried these though, TOP TIP knocking on doors making physical contact, rather than just posting/emailing CV’s, seems to work .
