Won't listen......

Loading up at a DC. Parked next to me is a young tyro… been in the job for five minutes and knows it all.

He’s coming out with all the bull while the forkies are loading the wagons… including asking out loud “Why don’t you throw the straps properly, Grandad?” … I smiled sweetly, and said nothing until the forkies had finished loading his wagon (32 packs of 3/4 Stirling Board in stacks of 4) and I saw him pulling his curtains shut…

“You were commenting on straps, and now you’re not using them?”

“Armoured curtain Grandad. Don’t need them!”

“Really?” (Pretty sure that this might have sounded ever so slightly sarcastic!)

About an hour later I passed him. He was parked up at the side of the road, trying to pick bits of board out of the shrubbery ---- all with the help of some nice policemen who were really pleased at having to direct traffic in the pi@@ing rain.

*I didn’t wave, smile broadly, and make some rude gestures as I drove past.

We learned by getting help and advice from “Grandad”; Why makes these little sods think they know it all?

(* This bit might not be true)

Edge of the seat stuff, really thrilling.

Maybe it would be if it were true.

I’m sure it was true (the first part)
