We have a new driver due to start with us next week - but he wont get his 35 hours in before the 9.9.14. He did his first course in 2009, and is booked on courses for the next 3 Sundays and then his last one is due after implementation - so will these hours still be vaild? or will he have lost any of these hours ?
I was told that you must have completed the 35 hours within the five years of the expiry date on the issued card so it depends on when in 2009 he did the modules. So if his card is issued (for example) on Sept 15th then any modules done before Sept 15th 2009 would not count.

Is he going to be able to comply with the weekly rest requirements? There are plenty of weekdays left.
And here.
Why it’s not as if we were not given any notice only about 5 years

Who’s paying for his 4 courses?
Example - for those with acquired/grandfather dcpc rights
7 hours done on 09/11/2009 = valid until 08/11/2014
7 hours done on 11/12/2011 = valid until 10/12/2016
7 hours done on 08/07/2013 = valid until 07/07/2018
After 09/09/2014 the drive cannot drive LGVs commercially
7 hours done on 11/10/2014 = valid until 10/10/2019
7 hours done on 12/10/2014 - at this point all the others are still valid so the 35 hours are complete and a DQC is issued with an expiry date of 11/10/2019
