the attitude test is the all deciding factor when stopped.
when you are being charged, then its always important to say your honest thoughts regarding the plod thats doing you.
recently i asked one what would happen if i called him a ■■■■■
he said he would charge me with various offences.
i then asked him what would happen if i just thought he was a ■■■■■
he told me it was of no concern of his as to what my thoughts were.
so i immediately told him that i thought he was a ■■■■■
didnt go down too well.

I know someone who is a police officer and years ago they were off duty and were caught doing just over 40 in a 30…
lets just say nothing was done about it
I recall letting of an officer doing 70 in a 50 zone in London … because he was one of us … admittedly he did used to work our patch …
Generally, advice would be given if a uniform was seen ie ambulance fire, I even allowed Truckers off with a valid excuse … why, because I know you guys work ■■■■ hard hours and are often tired and just want to get home … maybe he failed the attitude test. That’s how I judge people… that 8/10 decides if they are reported or blind eye turned.
When I worked in the prisons, I’d often car share with the officers. Let’s just say that strange things happen when people see those epaulettes!
Ah, what a Cat, I was a cat B prior to leaving for the police … excellent job being a prison officer still know a few in the job.

Calculating all the factors in I think his penalty is fair, 6points £635 for driving at 116mph + the stress up to the court case + the extra costs he will now face in insurance and have to drive his car like in that film ‘Teabagging Miss Daisy’ for the foreseeable.
I’m fairly positive that if me or one of my loved ones needed an ambulance I’d want this bugger at the wheel.
Kept his job kept his ability to help save lives so jobs a good un.
Probably different if he was copper but then they are the third least respected of the emergency services, possibly 4th forgot about the AA.
I totally agree with you DD. He does an immensely good job and is needed on the streets. If it was Joe Bloggs then ban him but I would think this guy has probably learned his lesson this time.

This bloke has been working as a healthcare professional for 22 years with a top reputation for his work, i’m sure he would have little problem finding a gig somewhere off the road in our crippled health service where he would be doing just as much good.
I don’t buy the ‘career ending’ hardship argument in this case at all.

155mph is on the limiter of all German cars, jags are 158mph, bet they didn’t catch him till he slowed down, fully load traffic car struggles to 140mph.

no biggie. instant ban for over 100 mph…hardly news as theres masses doing similar speeds in the uk every day.
its only mentioned as the usual media leeches make it a story as his job has nothing at all to do with toodling round at 116mh on the a55.
it only gives his lawyer a load of pish to throw in as an excuse.
obviously the judge ignored it and smacked his wrists anyway…if they limited cars to 70 then all we would have is constant rear enders with everyone on the cruise and not paying attention somewhat similar to the constant crashes daily with trucks.
it goes wthout saying the dude would be switched on and no danger to anyone else. another reason why it would be a better country if adolf hadnt came 2nd as our decent roads would be limit free.
+2
Even UK motorways are safe well over the stupidly low limits.
The guy received 6 points and a fine, no kittens were squashed…

I don’t either, if he had any thought, care or altruism in him he wouldn’t be driving at 115 mph. 5 year driving ban and suspended from paramedic duties until he can prove he understands risk and safety of others.
how many times over the years have you read of police officers driving dangerously and getting away with it,we have all read about it and they have got away with it,it’s wrong, there was a case a few years ago of a so called highly trained pursuit officer putting potential recruits through their paces on a public road, came round a bend too fast and rear ended a small car, result was the death of a young nurse in the car he hit [on her way to work]if I remember correctly he got away with it,it’s the old saying, one law for them and one for us,the point is had this paramedic made one mistake he could very easily have done the same, they should not be allowed to get away with it purely because of the job they do,there are allways others who can take his job over if he lost said job,no excuse.

But he was only doing 116 mph - well within the alleged 140mph capabilities of a traffic car. Besides, he was clocked by a roadside laser, which is capable of roughly 670 million mph…
