I think that’s known as “serendipity”

like oops all the tachos went up in flames. (again)
Yes, all fires at transport companies always start in the filing cabinet.

And no back ups of any incriminating cabotage data
As soon as i saw the title i straight away thought it was a cover up
Possible excuse:
“For some unknown reason, some of the petrol was stored in the filing cabinet section”
Janek Von Cabotage released a statement stating a thorough investigation was underway to how an intruder moved the goods.
Now that’s commitment to the cause…
I thought most if not all companies made back up tapes at the end of buisness each day and the tapes kept off the premisis in case of a fire as part of their disater recovery plan.

'Ello 'Ello 'Ello - Forensics have indicated that this fire was started by an accelerant that should not actually be present anywhere in a yard that’s all diesel!"

Back up tapes? Is it 1979?
It’s all done with online back-up these days but I’m sure that if I ever had an accidental spontaneous combustion in my filing cabinet I could also work out how to accidentally delete my MozyPro back-up too.

You hold the recorder next you digi card, press play and record together to back it up
The depth of knowledge on here amazes me. Some don’t even know how to tax a truck, but can use technical terms for other stuff.

I dont think you would be able to work out how to delete them , HTH.
Yes back up tape was a bit behind the times. so there will be a more modern online eqivilent. By the looks of that fire it was likely more than tacho records were destroyed.
How are the dutch on enforcement are they as vigilant us thier uk counterparts when they find a company has been naughty

Best think to do would store them in your wall units , the glue used in the construction plays havoc with tachos. HTH.
