Wobbly box season is on the way

Watch out for the caravans blocking off the parking for trucks, and why do they let their kids run around a lorry park when a 44 tonner is reversing in to a bay.

What type of man drags his family through bumper to bumper traffic for hours on end to be crammed into a caravan site for 2 weeks of misery in the ■■■■■■■ rain watching DVD’s on a 15" telly playing board games or going down the “clubhouse” to listen to a Celine Dion tribute act and beer at £4 a pint.

They deserve everything they get, by the way it’s now a legal requirement for all drivers of vehicles over 7.5 t to sound their horn when passing lay by’s full of caravans between the ours of 23.00-07.00 hrs.

Do ya like dags ?

heres a good one , 63% of caravaner’s are or were ex lorry drivers

Obviously a different sort of bloke to the sort of muppet that stands at the side of the road for hours to watch a motorbike go past.

Different strokes for different folks.

When I was doing recovery work , we used to refer to them as airfix kits. That was cause you got a chassis–then about a million bits of ■■■■■■ plastic spread up the carriageway. Every service van/speclift we used had 3 ready made wheel/tyres on,1 big centre hole,1 small centre hole and 1 wee dinky wheel. During the summer we sold between 3 and 4 a week.

Quite right,
although I STILL drive a truck :exclamation: :exclamation:

I will only say this,
for a family with two young boys and the fact that five of my mates and their families have touring vans too its the BEST money I’ve EVER spent :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :grimacing:

Can’t beat it at min one long weekend/month Apr to Sept and a week in August up@ Juniper Hill Portrush
(NW200 Bike road race circuit) along the North Coast of NI, get “the van” set up, beers in the fridge and the barbeque cooking away not to mention the kids all “happy as Larry” :exclamation: :exclamation:

Can’t beat it with a big stick, GREAT CRAIC :exclamation: :sunglasses:

Better than living in a “tin box” working 70hours+ week!!! :unamused:

Have to agree.

As for blowing horn while people are asleep,no different to layby full of Lorries with sleeping drivers.

Seems that down Cornwall way the council have banned motorhomes and caravans from stopping overnight in their carparks. Previously they were marked up as ‘no sleeping overnight’ in their carparks but people would and could argue that they had parked there and gone elsewhere… Yeah right.

Also they are including those small carparks by the coast that MH’ers like to park in, sometimes for several days…

Just a reminder for the caravan fraternity and all other drivers as it happens.

Cycle racing time trials or whatever shouldnt be allowed on main roads , they are a pain in the arse , middle age twerps with lycra on weaving about on duel carriageways or main roads . Give em a wide bearth and the draft of a artic still causes them to wobble and weave .
Plod should ban this sort of thing .

I own & tow a caravan about during the better months of the year…I also own a 44 t SCANIA Unit & various Trailers & you want to see some of the antics of some of our fellow “Lorry Drivers” get up to the rest of the year… :unamused:
