Witness sought

Not good, wondered why the women [zb] off, perharps she paniced.

Well certainly up here in Scotland you can be charged for driving away from the scene of an accident - even as a witness. Harsh maybe, but it does happen.
Why would someone who witnessed something like that drive away anyway - regardless of how shocked they might be.

Yeah i was kind of thinking that, perharps her actions may have led to it happening in the first place. Of course the article isn’t going to say everything as this mite make her think the police already know what happened therefore discouraging her to come forward on her own accord.

According to North Yorkshire Police, a female driver was directly behind one of the two vehicles involved in the crash on the A1237 York ring road on Tuesday evening. However, police say she left the scene before officers could speak to her.

It happened at 8.15pm according to the article, so therefore dark. Is it just me that is wondering how it is known that the following driver was female… ? As can be seen from the pics, the road is unlit.

There are a lot of reasons why she left the scene before the police spoke with her

Not very nice I hare it on the radio

The truck driver could have seem her waiting to join that road or she stopped, got out her car then changed her mind but he saw her as she drove off.

Because the police will be turning up and the person may have no wish to get involved with those ■■■■■.

Even though she was BEHIND the Tesco wagon

She could have been overtaking (not an unlikely scenario given how Tesco drive at 35 everywhere) and then perhaps the other vehicle coming the other way loomed into view unexpectedly, she managed to somehow get back behind the truck but the other guy ■■■■ his pants and swerved into the path of truck. ?

Anyway, it doesn’t say anywhere that she was following the truck. It just says that she was following one of the vehicles. It could have been that the insignia had just overtaken her but got his timing wrong and slammed into the truck.

Umpteen possible scenarios …

I’m thinking the same The car driver obviously never seen nothing, the lorry driver did? Wonder how anything passed him?

Or maybe the police told her to move along before they realised who she was and saw had it a couple of times when I’ve pulled up to help police arrive they just tell you to go on your way and only a few times I’ve ever been asked did I see anything or my name and address

or maybe she had been drinking and thats why she [zb]'d off

“We would particularly like to speak to a woman who was directly behind the lorry when the collision happened.

Endless possibilities to be fair

Lorry driver fell asleep

car driver fell asleep

she caused it

a deer jumped onto the road

aliens landed in the road

Possible or she was having extra marital activities and should have been somewhere else.

there was another accident further along the road, how they walked away i’ll never know…

What, you reckon it’s carrying something it shouldn’t be?
