If you own the truck be an amateur sparky and catch it on fire if you want?
If you don’t and mess with it, that’s the warranty up the creek , get the boss to pay for a professional .
If you drive for me and tinker, there’s the door, shut it behind you .P45 in the post.

not got multimeter to hand
Then don’t even bother to start to do it.
Also what is the rating of the inverter? If its a big one it may need a separate feed wiring to it.

I’ve just swapped mine from 26t rigid to a 6x2 tractor same age so straight swap
Took me longer to run the wires than actually connect it
I have just got an inverter for Christmas . Boss told me if I bought the inverter he would get the Volvo dealer to fit it as the truck is still under waranty. That way there won’t be any problems with the waranty down the line .
My merc had the Anderson plug on the near side so I ran the cables through near side locker and mounted inverter behind passenger seat and plugged in

He’s going to crap himself when he gets the bill, my boss did that for me when I started in August and it cost him over £300
But Scottie…how much for a rewire if the driver does it and messes it up… not forgetting all the other fire damage, £300 is a cheap price to pay for peace of mind…and doesnt invalidate the warranty…sensible boss…i would do the same.

Blue Estate kindly sent me some pics how to wire it into the fusebox, but my original idea was to put the cable from the inverter through the n/s locker also, and connect the cables to the + and - poles by means of car battery connecte clips, with a 100amp fuse on it…would that be ok?
Just weighing up the best option, so I can make up my mind which way to connect it.
Thanks.
Yes Rob, thats fine, so long as the cables from the inverter is the right length…if not, dont join any new extension…rewire the cables to go to the battery with the right length, and in line fuses too.

Ok but I thought I would put an Anderson connector 6" from the 2 terminals for disconnecting when the cab is tilted,
This will not make any difference will it?

Nope, none whatsoever
I would just like to point out !
My inverter set up was installed in my 26t rigid Merc by an Auto electrician , all I have done is disconnected it lock stock and barrel and then installed it in the Merc tractor unit that is same age and cab style , with the blessings of company fitter

Don’t get the wrong idea mate, there was no way in hell I was discrediting the info you sent me,.I was more than gratetful for it,… I was just looking at options that’s all, and I will more than likely get it done the way you showed me, when I get back in work next wk.
The way I was suggesting may have been easier to disconnect if I ever change motors, which I have in the past due to MOTs breakdowns etc.that’s all.
Btw Thanks for the constructive help Maoster !

Rob , it wasn’t aimed at you but the doom and kerboom merchants on here [emoji6][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]
If it’s at all possible Robroy I’m even worse with electrickery than you are, it’s all whichcraft and dark arts to me. My own (very amateur) thoughts are that wiring one into the fuse box would undoubtedly look lots neater as opposed to two thick cables running from an Anderson plug into your side locker. I would lean towards the Anderson jobbie though as I like the idea of thick capable cables plugged into something designed to power a tail lift instead of something that could possible sit out of sight smouldering away.

He won’t . He was a driver himself and he looks after the guys who do regular nights out and weekends away. He’s done the same for other drivers so he knows what it will cost.
