Hello, just wondering if anyone knows/knew a driver called Peter Henderson.
I met him in 1984 when I started driving and we both worked for a tiny company in Long Rock, Penzance called Pegasus Transport.
He would have been early to mid 40’s then and everyone called him Wing Commander.
Previously he had his own truck, a Ford Transcontinental which when the miner’s strike was on got very damaged when he crossed the picket line.
He looked the spitting image of Russ Abbott and was about 6’ 6", a real gentleman and very funny, he use to tell stories to people he’d just met when loading or tipping or in an MSA or anywhere about when he was a pilot, ship’s captain, submarine commander, stuntman, movie star etc etc.
He taught me a lot about driving, gearboxes, roping & sheeting, chaining, strapping.
If you met him or new him, you would not have forgotten.
