This will affect trade for the town and local farmers, and the new commercial centre with the hotel, new pub and KFC.
Castle Cary is shut to for bridge repairs until November,by the train station,to access Torbay Ind est, go down the A 371 and turn off at Lydford cross roads by the Shell garage and camper van sales.

It is shut for a few months, but the website says that walkers can go over the work site, but have to warn the workers before they can cross the bridge.
Down tools to let the ramblers go over.The work will take longer now.
With Castle Cary shut Monday, the small businesses will suffer, as locals will not bother wasting time and fuel for a 15 mile diversion on the Wincanton closure.
Shut from July 8th for 6 weeks.

So it’s not actually the 303 that’s going to be closed , just the slip road ?
The A303 is open as normal, it is the slip road over the A303 that will be shut, so no exit to the town that way.
