Evening chaps as i started my new job last week today was a shocker one of wincantons driver came in our office and ask for directions to a building site so i told him i think he was carrying roof tile i gave him a bit of advive dont take your trailor there as you wont get in he drop it up the road i think he got tiped any way are wincantons doing rooftiles now like soobies doing containers job going well s v

Seen a fair few Wincanton w+ds with block grabs ,so i presume they dont only deliver roof tiles.

I usually pick up from Redland tiles depots and Ibstock bricks and drop off at the wincanton depot in Cardiff docks, they are then sent on to building sites, they go out in wag + drags and rigids.

They work on other Wincanton contracts, you’d guess that Heinz would be rather busy towards Christmas.
They’ve been making a mess of the brick job for the last 3 or 4 years, they do all the work for Ibstock, Redland, Brett, and many many others.

true, we do bricks for ibstock through wincanton and drop on to morrisons work out of portrack lane stockton-on-tees if it goes quiet.
Wincanton run the old Redland Tiles place at Vandyke Rd in Leighton Buzzard.
Wincanton bought out RDL Distribution about 4 years ago.
Hanson quickly took there brick/block delivery back in-house shortly after, can’t think why… 
Wincanton do bricks roof tiles con blocks block paving they purchased rdl a few years back just before the resesion kicked in aiming to make a quick buck id say on most of thr contracts thev got 30% is there own trucks and 70% is run with subbies and people backloading i think thete main prob will come next jan as most of the subbiee vechiles are not lez compliant and theres an awful lot of building materials get delivered inside the m25
