B,Waddy, Mostyn Bob Price drove for Williams Bros then went to RMC in Halkyn ,drove there then went as a sort of transport manager ,i think he lived in the council houses near M & H COAHES yard in Trefnant ,Bob was ok ,they had another brother lived on the Rhewel ,cant remember his name off hand ,there was another driver ex Williams Bros ,also went to drive for RMC ,also lived at the bottom of the Rhewel ,named TED old grey cellsare going cant remember his surname ,a dam good driver, yours Barry Wad

that was my uncle bob,did he carry out of the quarry at halkyn?yes they did live in trefnant upto when he died.maldwyn used to live in rhewl but dont know about his brother,il have to check that one.it seems mad that you knew maldwyn and cliff but cant remember my dad.iv got a pic of him by his wagon but cant put it on here.thanx barry,this is like a history lesson

B, Waddy ,hi Mostyn, a fine photo ,the little grey cells are going a bit now ,I used too the Queens Ferry dept with my dad just after they took over Brook Bros, Rhyl quite a few lorries & A licenes ,new a lot of the drivers some by sight some by name one sticks out Jack shinner was his nick name kept his lorrie like brand new .A bit more useless info ,cheers Barry Wad

Does anybody know if williams bros did any irish work with cattle ? Would see tham on the m4 taking cattle to north devon meats and to a abbatoir near Taunton . thank you Trevor

i’m sorry but i don’t know,these are the things i would like to know.i was only a child when dad worked from queensferry.i just remember he was away alot and most saturdays were spent at the yard with dad while he cleaned his wagon and did his logbook.chips for dinner sitting the wagon.dad said we would have diesel in our blood.thankyou mostyn

Evening Barry, did the company have a name, my freind thinks the trailers had LTT Then a number on the trailers he seams to think line transport was there name but not sure ?

Ican remember W/Bs in the late 60s delivering cheese to a warehouse on The Quayside Newcastle, they were regular visitors in those good old days, Regards Larry. PS, Im nearley sure Smiles for Miles used to back load them ?.
