William Hunter

As the Hon. Secretary of the IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers) Northern Centre I would like to say how sad it was to hear that William (Bill) Hunter had passed away.

He was well respected by all who ever met him and a perfect gentleman.

The Northern Centre were honoured a few years ago to be able to present William with an IRTE comemorative IRTE shield for his dedication to road transport preservation and the quality of his preserved vehicles.

His lorries are definately Quality motors-- R.I.P.

I only had the pleasure of meeting him once at the Leyland Gathering about 3 years ago, a true gent, told me some wonderful stories and gave me lots of tips for the restorations I was involved with. He will be sadly missed RIP

R.I.P. William Hunter. A hugely respected man, not only for his lorry restoration projects, but also as a businessman for making his Huntapac business into a leading supplier of produce to the main supermarket groups.

Well said Mr Wheeltapper, he was a great nice guy he would always say hello years ago when I used to weld his Warrens F1 Stock car in there workshops at night time.

You was always made welcome and he would still come across even if I was on my own at night working on the car.

RIP Bill.

Cheers Welly
