Will this work

Booked on site at 10.30, but put 8 am as time due on site on pod , will site bloke fall for it, last shift and bet he sends me back out and says I’ll ring you when I’m ready

Fiver says he keeps you waiting till midday as tried to play him…

What? If you’re on site and ready to work you should be paid right? I know you probably get paid in peanuts (was it £7.95 for days?), but still.

Dozy you could try the old fashioned way and ask if there is anyway that you can get tipped early as it’s Saturday and you want to go home, honesty and hopefully some empathy from the delivery point will get you a lot further than lying.

The saga continues … :unamused:

No, because if they care about the booking times they will have their own list. You’ll get rumbled for trying to pull a fast one, parked on the fence and put on the ‘as & when’ pile.

If your stunt does work, i’d be ■■■■■■ off if I was the guy with the 8am booking who got delayed whilst you got tipped!

Tipped by 10.45    , straight back too yard   , then the sneaky zb tracks me now I’m off on a another bloody goose chase , might as well of just gone there at 10.30 :unamused: :unamused: :smiling_imp:

Yes I get paid, but as its last day and race for home the earlier I get tipped the better , well that was the plan , who knows now :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

They were desperate ( for a change ) to get me in and tipped as they want to get off ( sat ) , so I didn’t need too say anything , just told too go straight in through bottom gate , if it wasn’t for that zb planner and his spying on me I’d be at home , not sat at services awaiting instructions :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Only one other booking as earlier one cancelled so I’m told , and he was there when I got there, just had too wait while he was tipped which wasn’t long , I rolled his straps up to get him out the way ASAP ( nearly had too push him out gate as he didn’t seem in any particular rush :unamused: :unamused: ( apparently he’s on his way back too yard :unamused: :unamused: )

There you go dozy. If you charge around they’ll just stick more work on you so who is the bigger mug - me who goes on the SC sections of the A66 at 50MPH or you who does 56MPH and ends up having enough time to get sent on another job?

Meanwhile the Stobarts drivers who you went flying past will all be going home earlier than you because they don’t have enough time to do another job.

Oh wait…

So the guy who took his time and doesn’t rush around is now going home and the guy who rushes around like a demented lunatic, you, who is desperate to go home is now sat waiting for another job. And you’ve still not learnt the lesson and think rushing around chasing yourself up your own arse is the right way to go?

Here is an experiment for you to try next week.

  1. At the start of every shift take the recommended 10-15 minutes to do daily start of duty checks, even if you nighted out in the same truck.
  2. When changing trailer/load, take at least 20-30 minutes to check its strapped down and do a proper walk round check. If you start your shift at 6am and you’re picking up a loaded trailer and you are driving out of the yard any earlier than 6.30am you’re doing it wrong.
  3. Treat delivery times as a guide, not something you’ll be shot for if you miss them. Stop treating it as a race. Keep to the speed limits, stop trying to push people up the road.
  4. If you want to stop for a ■■■■, stop at a services, not in a layby in a bush.
  5. Stop trying to jump the queue to get in places.
  6. Park up in services or a truckstop when you’ve still got enough time to find one without getting stressed worrying about running out of time instead of trying to ring it out the last minutes driving out of every day.

See how much more relaxed you are and how earlier you get home.

So you missed an extra hour in bed for your efforts and a Saturday morning fumble :unamused:
There be the lesson ,
You cant kid a kidder

Not only that but the guy in front of him who wasn’t rushing around is now going home whereas dozy is sat awaiting orders.

Stony ground gents, stony ground. :bulb:

Even a badly treat dog learns lessons eventually if beaten enough, but hey!..this is dozy.

Will this work

Not something I would ever bet on

50/50 when you try it. I’ve done it loads of times, usually putting 1030 on the note, when I turn up at 12 for a 1400. Walk into goods in with an apology, and excuses telling them you’ve moved heaven and earth to get here. Then when they say it’s 1400, they either tell you to come back later, or we’ll get straight on it. I’ve aced up plenty of reloads the previous day. If the booking is for 8am and you get there at 4, the load is almost always ready, and chances are they’ll load it if they’re in a good mood, to give them a chance of an easy morning tomorrow
