If it were me mate, i couldn’t give a [zb]! Family come first and always will and I include my dog in that, she’s my bloody world so i wouldn’t care. If your boss fires you because of that, then he’s a piece of crap anyway, but good luck!
If he’s worth one one-iota, you’l still have a job when you get back.
I hope theres no chance he’l see this thread??

Just to add, there’s no way i could go to work in those circumstances either.

Plus 1.

Still miss my scruffy mutt over 7 year after he died.

W.

I bet you do mate. Was he a Collie, Old English cross??

I have no idea! He was a rescue at the age of about 18 months and lost him about 11 years later, everyone who met him suggested a different mix!

My mrs is a dog groomer, she says he looks like a Collie / Lurcher cross?? She also said its hard to tell for certain

I had Collie, Lurcher, Terrier, Greyhound (needed to see him run!)and a few others I can’t rememebr now suggested.

We were likened to Wallace and Grommit on a few occasions! He had the same way of expressing his mood/feelings by facial expressions

and the outcome was ■■?

jessicas dad:
Im going to have to keep an eye on this thread to see how you get on.

Things run in 3’s so they say…

Maritime

Turners…

3’s?? You’ve never seen my CV have you?
I was PCV before HGV and had more jobs in 5 years than my dad did in all his working life.
I’m only 36 now and I can’t even count how many jobs I’ve had, but I’m trying to grow up…

mucker85:
How much notice that you couldn’t work the friday did you give? If it was overnight you will probably be in for a talking to but if it was wednesday or earlier you should be ok.

Wednesday but at the end of the shift, got the phone call at around 6pm that she was booked in for the final visit, shift ends at 9.30pm but really busy between those times.

I spoke to him Friday over the phone, plane was delayed so had to rush home for the missus to deal with the horse before it was dark.
He said just go in for my normal shift today (Monday) and we’ll have a chat… He also said that I chose a good week to have off, I asked if he meant because of the weather and he said "not just that… " so I’ll find out more later.

waynedl:
… so I’ll find out more later.

Well keep us informed as we are all nosey buggers.

I can taste the tension in the air.

I can taste the tension in the air.

And me, either he’s been sacked and he went to the pub for the day or they gave him a long horrible run somewhere and he hasn’t had time to get on here.

Just got home.

No probs as such, a little word in my ear at the end of the shift, but all is good.

Had to re-arrange my other job interview now though :grimacing:

That’s good. It’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Good on ya mate. I’ve been biting me nails waiting for this one.

waynedl:
So, I booked next week off to have a hols with my missus, no probs there, but 1 of the dogs is very old and was getting pretty ill, so got her booked into the vets for yesterday.

Anyway, asked boss if there was any chance of the Friday off too, he says no chance. Took dog to vets, she was put to sleep, told boss he’s going to have to cover it, not in best state of mind for driving an artic on a Friday afternoon etc. He said he couldn’t cover it, so I turned my phone off…

Now, we don’t have any kids, our pets are our family, and the old girl had been with us for 13yrs and was fully grown when we got her (rescue dog).

What you reckon? Job hunt or just a bollocking?

If you get fired for this , put the bosses name on here, let everybody know what he’s like.

All bosses will have their moments. (As I’m only too aware) But I think once they realise the sentiment involved, will just crack on once the dust has settled. See? It’s all worked out. :sunglasses:

I didn’t mate. Outcome is above, but basically he told me he should give me some sort of disciplinary but isn’t going to, but that I left him in the crap etc.

But, in the same conversation, he told me the night man just had 2 nights off because his mother in law died… Now, ok, I understand that, but you can’t have 1 rule for 1…

Losing my pen is worse than losing my mother in law!

Haha and a lot more hassle with all the arrangements of finding another one.
