Do you think they will ask for a loan to bail them out, like Portugal has, what has Portugal done with all the revenue they have earnt from tourism, the Algarve area, where many flock to,i prefer the mountains around Braga and Braganza,in the north, the area that runs from Villar Formoso to Porto, laid back locals,no rip offs, not a football shirt,or white socks and sandals for miles,no fry ups, unlike the Costa`s.

If they do they should hope they get Peseta’s in it and go back to there sovereign currency and devalue
What everyone fails to understand is our Fathers and Grandfathers fought 2 wars to stop Germany taking over. Is all this is in vain due to the fact they now have a booming economy and Greece Portugal & Ireland are all in the doo doo ? You tell me.
The Euro will go down in History in due course as the biggest collective mistake made by a multitude of Goverments !

The EU should never have allowed third world countries like Greece and Portugal into the club, the same as they shouldn’t have invited Malta, Cyprus, the new Baltic and Balkan states.
I remember something along the lines of discounts when the Eurovignette was introduced as they couldn’t afford 8 Euros per day

I agree totally regarding the poorer countries, but the point I would make is, was it not sold to European countries and beyond as a level playing and trading field due to the harmonising of the currencies ?
Because if it was it doesnt seem like it now if your in Greece, Portugal, Ireland and surely Spain will be next

will it ever
The BBC said that Germany is booming, and has the lowest employment for 20 years,i have seen their huge factories, some are miles and miles in size, you need a map,and reports of drivers being lost in a refinery,i can just about believe. No phones or sat navs are allowed for ignition risks.
Spain probably will be next because under Zapatero we are importing unemployment on a massive scale.
no restrictions were imposed for the newer accession states when they joined the EU so whereas in the UK Romanians and Bulgarians still needed a visa and a job to enter in Spain no such limits applied so there are now apparently nearly 700,000 of them in the country, not a problem if all are working as they would pay into the tax system but they are not.
every time Zapatero announces new financial plans he increases the minimum dole payment so it now stands at about 450 euros a month but the average pay in Romania and Bulgaria hasn’t risen much above the same amount so its better to sit on the dole in spain than work in their own countries draining the tax system instead of adding to it.
free movement of people is all well and good (otherwise i’d still be in wales) but not if all you intend to do is sponge off the state.
the spanish economy was built on the construction industry building homes for other europeans to buy their “dreamhouse in the sun” but if the rest of europe can’t afford to pay for their 1st mortgage in this crisis they’re not going to buy the thousands of now empty apartments littering the costa’s.
the UK has a problem in not enough people paying for the pensioners, here in spain we don’t have enough working to pay for the unemployed let alone the pensioners
Would a million euro property on the costas, now sell for 450 thousand euros, with a desperate seller, has the land grabbing by the councils in the Valencia area, now subsised, they were knocking down houses, with no planning permission?
And horror stories,of the right of the sheperd in the village,to walk his flock through the middle of your house,as that was in the deeds.

bargains can be found, there’s a villa near me was worth 800,000 now selling for 500,000 but its only ever worth what somebody will pay for it.
the land grab thing was overhyped by the UK press IMHO it did go on but some of the victims were just too stupid to do anything about it because of their lack of language skills.
as for the sheep toby i have no idea about that rule but i’m not worried as there’s no sheep anywhere near benalmadena

The BBC said that Germany is booming, and has the lowest employment for 20 years.
well if you mean unemployment then that probably has something to do with the demographic makeup of the people of germany - thanks to everybody deciding to only have one child per family a while back the population is aging very rapidly and not only do they have low unemployment, the already have a lack of workforce, cue bringing in russians from the volga area with only some vague german ancestry. in a decade or so the there will be little left of the german industrial capabilities.
toby if you are interested about that villa i mentioned, spoke to my mate who owns a bar and his brother is an estate agent, they reckon the bloke will sell for 450,000 no chain and no waiting
seems like a good deal toby get your chequebook out 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3 car garage pool and snooker table.
