Hi all I’m a new class 2 driver in leics done abit of work for agency, using annual leave as I have a permanent full time job (not driving) I have a driving assessment with widdowson group tomoz. Can anyone offer any advice about the company in terms of… People have told me they will get rid of me in January if the give me a job is this true? The job advert does state permanent full time position? I currently have 2 jobs and would have to leave both for widdowson which if there is a full time job available I don’t mind doing but there is no chance of me going back to them after. As you can understand though being a new driver no one is willing to give me a shot. Any advice is appreciated.
Widdows have their own training section - or did a year ago - so its a good place to get in to for a newbie
Nobody can guarantee length of service and an employer can legally say bye bye within the first 2 years
All you can do is to have a good talk to them face to face and see if you can determine anything from that
Widdows will soon get rid if things look bleak from what i’ve heard,though i do know a tramper on there who loves the job.all their motors look well looked after,
Thanks guys, I understand what ur saying just wanted to know if they set drivers on with every intention of dropping them in jan as that seems to be some people’s opinion. In which case why don’t they advertise for for temporary (cove sickness,holidays,busy periods) or seasonal positions? As appose to permanent position? I suppose I won’t know until I take the plunge just didn’t know if anyone else knew abit more about the matter? Thanks for ur input
