Wi-Fi in cab .

I am considering instead of tethering to my smart-phone a portable Wi-Fi unit and sim card from one of the major phone networks to use with a tablet . I would welcome all comments regarding this type of system ,many thanks in advance .

The Huawei units are the ones to go for, check them out at Amazon.

I got a new one from 3, 20 pound a month for 20 gig, plus a free sim card for a phone, with 500mb, 500 mins 5000 txt and 2000 free minutes to 3 numbers, pretty good, I thought.

I agree with the first post about the Huawei units. GiffGaff are great for Sim only contracts! £20 a month will get you Unlimited internet, Mins and Text. But of course it’s the internet we are looking at here. £20 a month for Unlimited is a great deal if you ask me!

I see 3 is doing double gig on its mifi things. 16 quid I think for 20 gig. I’m tempted.

Can’t your phone act as a portable WiFi hotspot without tethering?
