why?

Earlier today I was following an artic bulk tipper, he had a forklift carried behind the trailer. Often see them on a curtainsider but what why on a tipper? What would he be carrying that would not be loaded with a loading shovel or out of a bin? The forklift looked to have forks, not a bucket or tipping skip thing. Just curious and I’m sure someone out there will put me out of my misery!

a moffett?

ive seen a few 8 wheeler bulkers with a trailer carrying a telehandler so they can load themselves but not a moffett on an artic cant imagine why unless its a walking floor as they get used a fair bit for pallets

Might have an attachment to tip into bulk bags, or could be used for picking up animal carcasses for incineration. A firm from near Bicester does this.

That would make sense, it was a wagon from the bio gas plant. But no, I didn’t notice it stinking.
