Why

do the EU driving regs have this in there

A driver may have at most three reduced daily rest
periods between any two weekly rest periods.

However, the daily driving time may be extended to at most
10 hours not more than twice during the week.

why did the not give us 3 10’s and say between weekly rests

why can you have 3 9’s rests between rests, but only 2 10’ hour drives between rests

They don’t have that in the regs. Read it again. :stuck_out_tongue:

They did better than that, you can do 4x’10’s’ between weekly rests.

Both the reduced rests and the extended driving days used to be in the fixed week, they changed the reduced rest one at the last rules change in April 2007.

It does seem a bit strange to change one but not the other, especially given the fact you can, if the circumstances are right, do four extended driving days between weekly rest periods,

did i word it better that time :stuck_out_tongue:

it just made me wonder why there did that

Hi Del, That’s a fair question mate, but I don’t think that anybody on here could actually give you a good answer…
:bulb: If you really need to know, I reckon you’d be best to ask that question in the part of the European Parliament where they write write the Regs.

IMHO, it might an idea (and less time consuming for you  ) to accept and fully understand what is written instead of wondering why the Regs are written in the way that they are.

If I did that amount of wondering about ADR’s 1300(ish) pages, I’d worry myself to death quite quickly and then I’d have to hand over answering the ADR questions to you, but you could always ask ROG to help. :open_mouth:   :stuck_out_tongue: :grimacing:
