why?

Would like to see how a driver in a hgv can safely brake hard with just a 2 sec gap with the vehicle in front with no escape routes to the side, keep the load secure and not use the vehicle in front as a braking aid.

Like the tanker driver said 4 seconds minimum.

To many so called professional drivers put their faith in ebs & abs saving the day.

As a car transport driver I will wait until the truck is at least 4 seconds in front of my cab due to the overhanging car on my roof. Too many drivers forget the overhang and try pulling straight back in front.

I was just going to post the same thing. It’s as if the Insignia estate on the peak is invisible. I’ve lost count of the number of times if had to swerve and brake hard to avoid them hitting the peak car. While they are oblivious to what they’re doing.

Wow. That must be some overhang you guys run with. Here was me thinking 0.5m was the maximum. :laughing:
