Why pay minimum wage?

Why pay minimum wage?

Less then minimum wage for a zero skill warehouse job. I’ve seen a few ‘warehouse apprentship jobs’ in which their sole goal is to pay peanuts and get the same as paying someone properly.
This one is just really blatant though they aren’t even offering a pretend apprenticeship the only requirement is you are under 20 so they can pay you less… :grimacing:

Another great one

£4.20 an hour but you will get a Level 2 Warehouse & Storage Qualification. Which I know for a fact is a absolute must when applying for any warehouse job… :unamused:

It actually does meet the ‘minimum wage’.Nothing to do with any so called ‘apprenticeship’ based wage. While I’d guess that the ‘under 20 year olds’ in question would say how wonderful it is to have the EU looking after their ‘workers rights’ together with weak castrated complicit unions. As opposed to militant unions with the full rights to strike within an economy with a relatively high demand for labour. :unamused:

Are you even allowed to ask for under 20s only in a job ad - thought age discrimination was unlawful these days? Must want absolute monkeys by the sounds of things although they still want a years work experience so complete dole dossers forced into this by the JSA need not apply I guess.

As for the apprentice one, there’s loads of those around for all kinds of jobs. They get paid thousands by the government for “training” people which is really just a new version of that idea from the 80’s which I’ve forgotten the name of where anyone without a job after leaving school and at risk of claiming benefits would get dropped into a fake “training job” to keep the unemployment numbers down.

For example you can do a “business admin” apprenticeship which basically means you produce invoices and get a level 2 qualification (they never seem to specify the qualification board who issue it). No use to anyone except the employer who gets cheap labour and the lazy gits who only have to get up for work 2 days a week.

Unless you fall into these age brackets, why the ■■■■ do you care and what relevance does it have to do with truck drivers, whom i’m going to guess on this forum are long past these ■■■■■■ wage/age brackets.

Hi possably thre trianing scheme you refer to is Y.T.S. youth training scheme i did a couple back in the day first one was a complete waste of time working on a farm over harvest ( no explotation there then ) unsurpisingly after harvest sorry lad we have no place for you
second one was in a printers which was ok and did help somwhat in getting me a factory job . even if it was a total dead end… basically this type of scheme gets people off the official figures so you have gone from unemployed to in training

Do Stobrats pay their young driver trainees anything they don’t have too ? And what do they pay them after passing ? Mmmmmm. I bet it’s a pittance.
