coz there all scared incase they told to {zb} off n dont come back

Never been there, never want to.

Be a bit quiter when that super dock opens in purfleet! Might have time to get you in & out in a reasonable time then.

It’s not exactly busy down there now,for a port it seems to be anti Hgv,it needs some people in charge that realise that them holding us up costs us money and valuable time, some of the dockers book you in as you drive under the canopy and some others walk over to you slow or wait for you to give them the vbs number when all they need to do is type your reg in and they have all the info they need,it’s run about as good as our government is …

not sure what to make of it to be honest, it might have an impact on Felixstowe but I think it will be tilbury and thamesport that will be more affected. I quite like Felixstowe , you do get in amongst the action so to speak, rather than just queue up and get in a slot eventually like some ports - very uninteresting! and they let you park up there overnight which is a big help.

The Gateway is a fair distance from Purfleet, that’s why I was asking. Have they got anyone to use it yet?

Gateway cranes being delivered a few weeks ago

Think a fair few shipping companies have signed up…mostly leaving tilbury…this new port will have a massive advantage over Felixstowe and that its able to operate in high winds because its not exposed to the east coast

Felixstowe ship cranes stop working at 45 mph at boom height, they all have ‘windymetres’ on them same as at Gateway, don’t know the criteria for there but about the same I should think. Its not so much the port location but exposure to the prevalent winds and they are about the same geographically.
The Gateway cranes are a tad bigger than the F’stowe ones as well, and as well as the straddle carriers all second hand gear from Dubai I suppose.

I though Gateway was very near purfleet/thurrock. They can take the new Maersk super container ships as well.

The old Shellhaven site, SS. On the A13, bit of a walk from Pureet though.
