Answers on a postcard??
Because in the know it all’s mind that designs test you can “always” turn and reverse in on your own side!!!
Don’t you have to bend the trailer both ways to get it into the bay? It’s like a figure S if I remember rightly?
Regards SB
As you have to steer both ways - the S shape - the blind side is the first part of the exercise. Pete
If blind side reversing was to be entered as part of the test then we would have more of a crisis of not enough drivers as quite a few people i witnessed reversing struggle to get the trailer in a straight line let alone having to kink it a bit
Driving test legislation is specific that the reverse manoeuvre must be S shaped. It wouldn’t really matter how difficult the exercise was made as it would still just be a matter of practicing it until you perfected it
Personally I have always thought that the reverse was too easy. It would be better if the examiner could randomly pick from a selection of different manoeuvres. Just my opinion.
The first part of the reverse test is blind.
The driving test is simply to see if you can handle a vehicle in a safe manner. Once you pass that basic handling test, then you start learning to drive.

When did we have any crisis of not enough drivers?
There are more drivers than trucks and more trucks than loads.
There is NO crisi and never has been one either.
