Why don't they put up the price?

When looking through trucks that are for sale online or in magazines, they never put the price up, why is this?
Not like a car where the price is always on the advert.
Is it because truck prices are more negotiable??

invariably, the truck sales place will try and sell you something else whilst you are calling them to ask about the price

Plus the competition can ajust accordingly if they have same stock.

If you’re interested and want to know the price then you’re gonna have to ring them. That way they have your number and alot of them will pester you to sell a different truck of ring you every time a similar one comes in.

not if you block your number

It seems obvious now, not one of my best threads!!!

It annoys me and actually makes it likely I won’t bother to call them. The first price they give will invariably be on the ambitious side whilst they establish if you’re a numpty or not.

I generally email or text but if I do ever call, when they quote the price I’II say ‘it was the 2005 Daf’ I was really looking at as if I think they’re talking about the wrong truck.

Had one recently where I emailed enquiring about the price of a trailer. They came back £7k which they probably knew full well was ambitious - I thought it was worth £5k and after about 3 weeks of emails back and forth they’re now offering it for £5k but now I’m not sure. If they’d come back first £5995+vat, I’d have said thought it looked only worth £5k+vat. If they’d then said meet in the middle at £5.5k+vat I’d have done a deal that day.
