Why do Pre-Trip checks?

Did it after hook up a loaded Trailr and had a bold tyre.
So we Transhipped.
You know woot?
There we found a flat Tyre, just when we were finish.
transhipped again to find out Customer is closed.
So i got a extra Shift toda. Pretrip check i did already :grimacing:

Our trailers get beaten up pretty badly. Every day, when I start and when I finish I see at least 2 or 3 trailer repair vans in our yard on a daily basis.

Yes,but were not bad to walk around when fueling up and not put a Trailer with flat Tyre on a Bay. Would safe some Time

I worked at a place where bald tyres were a regular thing because drivers were either blind or too lazy to report defects.

Have check sheets to fill in at work. Mainly to keep DVSA/VOSA man happy. Boss trusts us with common sense and is always happy for us to ring him if we spot something serious.

You are driving a machine that can kill people quite easily. Basic checks every day are worth it imo
