Why do i need this?

I’ve the chance of a couple of jobs when i get my ADR done. Then i get an email from one that contained the following:

-Addtional qualifications should include current CPC, ADR and Aviation certification.

Why do i need an aviation certificate? Where would i get one? How much do they cost? Do they do a crb check?

Does the job entail driving on or around an airfield?
As it requests ADR I would assume its refuelling tankers?

It’s not refuelling. It’s European tramping work. Probably supplying airbus parts from time to time. I’ve done that work before with seats worth £1000000 each. All i needed was an hgv licence and cmr.

that’ll probably be an air side certificate.
I’ll ask my lad he’s a trainee ATC …

Aviation security. Probably levels a & b. Just google a training firm near you who offers the course, basically covers don’t let a dodgy looking bloke interfere with your load. Take you a morning & cost a ton.

Harsh but funny lol

To limeyphil,…when I was working at Gatwick I had to have a security check done every 3yrs, which was a basic disclosure background check, heres the addy from my last one done in 2006.

Disclosure Scotland
PO Box No: 250
GLASSGOW
G51 1YU

Now for my visa for the US I had to have b/ground check done by the National Identification Service at New Scotland Yard in London.
Hope this helps.

Brucewillis:

Because obviously ATC have the requirement to go airside occasionally
And it’s a bit more involved than just a “parking attendant for planes”…

Air traffic is not just your aircraft parking attendant.

You have Tower Controllers
You have Controllers that control localised traffic covering large parts of the country
then you have Controllers that handle cross continent traffic.

Some of the control centres are nowhere near an aerodrome

this is just one company that does that work …
