Why couldn't they just of remembered too pick up the loads

Conor:

burnley-si:
the problem is

,they can’t give him any instructions as he doesn’t speak a word of English

why take people on that cant speak english

Cos Stobrats is so screwed now they have no other choice. I reckon dozy will be out the door soon.

Not sure he’s there anymore judging by his recent posts. He was on for some container outfit for a while and now doing bananas out of MMD so I don’t think that’s Stobbies.

dozy:
I guess he’ll get the blame for it all,I was so ■■■■■■ with him,15 hrs, night in a tin box,no night out gear ,but really the fault lies at the people who are meant to organise the job ,the even lie ,he’s there ,he’s loaded ,the place is closed and he’s really lost .

Sorry Dozy but you must be new at this game…The fault that this whole situation became thread / whinge worthy is yours.
Not having any night out gear aside there comes a point you have to take control of your own hours. At 14 hours ish of a 15 hour shift you should have been thinking of yourself and where you wold be stopping for your 9 hours free / unpaid time. Especially as you knew in advance you would be out of time at some point.

Bollox to the planners its at this point you should be pulling out and retrying tomorrow. The language barrier is not your concern.

I’m presuming your rest was interupted to continue these trailer swap / paperwork shenanigans.
Learn from this and more importantly learn to stand up for yourself.

Apologies is I’ve missread your post but it appears Mr Cockup had his best shoes on and you where aware of this from the get-go, so the problems you incurred where self inflicted.

Dozy. I agree with Robroy and Dipper Dave. If you don’t want nights out for whatever reason, make it clear to your planner.
Only last month you wanted to do Newark to Felixstowe and back in eight hours and now you are moaning about being down in Portsmouth and having to wait for a load and having to sleep in the cab without any gear.
There has been too many like you that have come into the haulage industry thinking that they can make a change by doing Manchester to Southampton with four drops on the way down, and get back on a nine hour drive. This driver don’t usually last long at any place because they have cut the job up for the driver’s that have been doing the run for years and earned a good wage, and then YOU have to do the run on a Friday. Then when it gets too much, YOU leave! Because they have put another job on and means getting back later. But that doesn’t matter as long as you get back to your own house. But now YOU have created a problem by getting back and the boss wants those guys remaining to do the exact same.

If you don’t want too sleep in a tin box overnight, leave it to the big boys and girls (read Eleanor or The Missus on here) and get a call centre job.

Rant over.

Now you’re doing it as well, it must be catching! Its only too when there’s too much of it, then there are too many o’s (or “2 many” if it helps to remember).

If you’re doing to do something or go somewhere its to. (to remember think you can only go to 1 place at a time).

grammar police hat now off.

I do apologise for my grammatical mistake! Thank you Driveroneuk for reading my opinion/rant as I detest errors in grammar and never respond to text language.

dozy:
they tell me too pick a load up of one of our depots ,it’s set at 2 temps but when the give me pod it says one ,I query this be told it’s 1, so whys it set and running on 2, it’s not ,it is I’ve just checked it ,and why have you given me a pod for tri f--------, when I was told too pick up tri ------

Right or wrong trailer No, just pick up the trailer you`ve been told to pick up and leave, the error is down to the office. Leave it to them to fend off the flack when the truth comes out.

Wasn’t Dozy the one who said he tears the job up so he only does short days and no nights out?

Oh and why, would you do (presumably) Newark to Portsmouth without any night out gear■■?

We’re always told to carry it, even on locals (although there is no chance I’d night out when on locals) so the get me a hotel line wouldn’t wash at my place.

You’re welcome beanie, you had obviously become infected after reading dozy’s posts.

Has dozy taken over from Boss & driver on here?

Not just the one though:

There has been too many like you that have come into the haulage industry thinking that they can make a change

Should be “There have been too many…” (You are talking about multiple drivers, not just the one).

This driver don’t usually last long at any place because they have cut the job up

Should be “These drivers…” (Again, you are talking about multiple drivers, not just one of them).

for the driver’s that have been doing the run

That apostrophe simply should not be there at all - you are talking about drivers (plural), not something belonging to one of them.

So, marks out of ten for a good rant? Sev-un!

Normal. Moral of the story… always have you gear with you

If I worked for a clown outfit like that, I would just go into Gunner Asch mode - that is I would do exactly what they told me to, no more and no less. I would rigourously obey all the relevant laws and regulations too. When drivers cover for incompetent planners, they have only themselves to blame. Fine for an occasional error, but not if it is a daily occurrence.

Also acceptable if the Planner scratches your back from time to time in return, like when you need a tidy Friday, he makes it so

Yep, that’s a school boy error, will move my bedding and wash gear, even if I’m doing “just jump in that motor this morning while yours is in the workshop” scenario, to easy to get ■■■■ on

A week passes on this thread and still no comments from dozy the o/p, we will just wait until he ■■■■■ up another job and then complains when it backfires on him…again :unamused:

So, I go in for a night shift…

Here yuo go driver, talked through and all written down, go ■■ pick up load, take it south for a trailer swap and bring the other load back. Fridge work…

So gets going, after a bit me phone rings, have you got the load? Flip, I fogot! Now 2 hours down the road… ■■■■■■■■…

Total brain stall, despite the clear instructions from the office…
