Why is a bus driver posting on trucknet??

I drive anything i get paid to.

So, you’re driving a coach, in roadworks,

taking a picture of the vehicle behind you (albeit in the retro)but still doing it

And you’re slagging him off :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :astonished: :astonished: :astonished:
:unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

OH PLEASE !!!

Stationary with the handbrake on.

So that means HE was STATIONARY TOO
GET A F R I G G I N G L I F E you moron

Gosh, capital letters. You must be getting angry, calm down dear.

pierrot 14:
Go back to your original post

So there I was “driving” through the road works

Taking a picture of the vehicle " BEHIND " you

Now you’re telling us that you were actually ““STATIONARY””

Get it right , if you want some sympathy

Did you miss the stop start bit? Or choose to ignore it? Yes he was behind me, there was a concrete barrier to the left, an empty lane to the right, a queue of cars in front, some cows and sheeps in the field and I think I saw an aeroplane up in the sky.

It’s a common sight on the A40, end of the Witney Bypass. People have this retarded supermarket queue mentality and block a perfectly useable lane, causing a tailback in the other because they think we should all stand in line.

Yeh but not in the middle lane.

You are quite right Mucker. The truck was being selfish. Pointless trying to argue on here sometimes especially if you were not driving a truck at the time.
Sometimes a truck driver is never wrong on this site. :unamused:
Truck drivers in general tend to be selfish these days. In fact most drivers tend to be selfish. People in general are selfish.
Being polite and courteous seems to be a thing of the past unfortunately.

its strange how it only seems to be the UK that have this lets pull in at the last second mentality and create standstill traffic, to me the 800yards is a get into the nearside lane not blast along until you force others to brake to allow your lack of forward planning.

Any cars that would have gone past him would have been long gone by time we had stopped and started our way to the merge in. 600 metres of empty lane benefits nobody. It maybe saved him 30 seconds but personally I couldn’t see the point. Let the cars go past and just trickle along.

Someone posted a photo of a coach in the 3rd lane the other day. Everyone was making judgments without knowing the facts. The guy was in the 3rd lane of a dual carriageway, perfectly legal.

Where a picture can tell a thousand words, its also a snapshot of the moment in time taken from the photographers position at that moment…it doesn’t let the viewer know the build up to that moment nor the subjects reason for being where he/she is at that moment, nor what the subject can see and reacting to at any given time.

Dunno bout you lot but i’m as far from perfect as its possible to get, if only half of one percent of my ■■■■ ups and misdemeanors were reported with picture evidence over my driving life it would fill these pages, i wonder in times gone by did we live and let live a bit more.

Just think…

Thanks to him blocking that lane you got through the roadworks quicker because you didn’t have a pack of bell ends in L3 trying to force their way in.

The guy was in the 3rd lane of a dual carriageway, perfectly legal.

How can anyone be in the 3rd lane of a dual carriageway ■■ Or is it me as I thought dual meant two

Dual carriageway does mean 2, carriageways that is. I might be wrong but I think each of the carriageways can have as many lanes as required ?
Regards. John.

Probably means A road as in A50 on the 3 lane bit .

Dual carriageways

A dual carriageway is a road which has a central reservation to separate the carriageways.
137

On a two-lane dual carriageway you should stay in the left-hand lane. Use the right-hand lane for overtaking or turning right. After overtaking, move back to the left-hand lane when it is safe to do so.
138

On a three-lane dual carriageway, you may use the middle lane or the right-hand lane to overtake but return to the middle and then the left-hand lane when it is safe.

Or the A2, sections of the A38 and many more.

600 metres of empty lane is hardly efficient.

If you then fill that 600m of empty lane with rushing white van & 4x4 drivers who have got to get everywhere before anyone else - then you DO have a totally stopped traffic jam as that lane has now been encouraged to continue to squeeze in, - bringing lanes 1 and 2 to a total standstill.

As far as I’m concerned, this guy is OK by me.

Far from being selfish (truck’s progress isn’t sped up by much) it will actually INCREASE the speed of the two lanes already in front of him, as they don’t now have to keep stopping for barging in drivers from their left… That’s quite the opposite to “selfish” in my book.

Zip merging is great if at speed and not left till the last minute. But in roadworks it’s a ■■■■■■■ pain in the ■■■■ with the dive bombers. I’ve had them fly up that fast trying to get past me they’ve ran into the cones. Or the ones that burst the 50 roadworks speed limit to get past you then you enter the contraflow and they do 45 or summit :unamused:

Yeah, because everyone that posts on here is a truck driver aren’t we, we all are aren’t we?

Then why bother having 2 lanes?

Good on that driver!
