I was young child around trucks and worked them till my arse couldn’t take any more. I was about 14. It’s a job I enjoy and pays well. I can’t really see myself stuck on an office or on a factory production line all day.

same for me went italy with my dad in a volvo f88 in school holiday got into trucks working at a garage as soon as i left school and i have just started going back abroad again after a 12 year break and i must say for all the jobs bad things,i have always had a job always had stead money and i still love catching that ferry and driving down to spain.
Kept me busy and earning when things were quiet on the spanners
my grandad was a truck driver for Richard Reads in longhope and i used to out with him at school holidays. But when i left school, i went into bricklaying for ten years.
About 4 years ago, me and my family went through a very difficult period and i took 2 years off work, When i felt that i could go back to work, the money wasnt in the building anymore and as ive always wanted to have a go at driving, i took my class 2 licence and never looked back.
TBH, as you all know, it an be tough at times but in general, i love it. could do with a bit more $$$ but glad to have a job that i enjoy.
Because I love this country and I get paid for travelling all around the Uk, which is cooool…

+1 also my dad is a driver too an so was my grandad !!
Initially, out of pure rebellion…because I was told girls didn’t drives lorries…
Now…because I have a family to keep.
started due to a previous employer paying for class 2 then things looked bad with them so i did my class 1 out of my own polcket and have never looked back only wish i had done it sooner instead of ■■■■■■■ around and trying to learn trades that in all honesty i was never gonna get ( paint spraying ) sounds simple but belive me a highly knowelgable trade
oow I was a multi drop driver doing 60 drops a days on van like before I took my class 2
I got chance to get stuck in with warehouse like
infact thats what I did when I was 17 yo; warehouse man
but then I went onto window and carpet cleaning job but reterned a while after
I did not relise at the time what a sack of S$ the job was going to be
instead of gong out there getting on with job making 20 30+ deliveries a days on 4 wheeler; now I passed my class one its one drop trunk drown and pull up on bay while they tip you and you have your brake
You dont help unload you dont pick and pack you are just the driver and your job is just to drive the truck and fill all the bureaucratic bits of paper work out
same old trunk roads same old foot same old ■■■
This job is boring and as tedious as hell
But thats it man thats all the jobs left nower days
I wish I was back on vans but there ant any van work left
So a livings a living
Eat or starve
