Im always out on a Friday while all blue eyed boys in pub is it just that they can always get back thro experience or they giving me all runs u can’t get home on. Tried 90 hrs all lot if it’s Friday I’m not getting home. Starting to get on my wick don’t mind nightouts but not on Fridays.
Virtually every week I used to get the central London run on a Friday and was usually the last back - always had to save a 10 hour driving day for fridays … but I loved it though 
All ours were long day runs so not as bad as nights out
If you don’t winge and moan constantly at the transport office about every single bloody thing, this is exactly what happens.
The reason the others don’t get the Friday crap is they’d cry for hours to anyone who’ll listen until eventually the job gets given to someone who just gets on with it just to shut them up…if the company insists they do the job they go sick, the company probably know all this but are too weak to do anything about it.
The only good thing is that eventually you’ll drop on a job where competence reliability and can-do is valued and well rewarded, you’ll have the last laugh yet.
edit…make it work for you…don’t do too much on the Friday, if you know you’re going to get stuck out, find somewhere really nice to park up early before the lemmings turn the roads to hell, then get up early and do more Saturday…which should earn you more as well as easier…more than one way to skin a cat.

Grow a pair of ■■■■■■■■ then if you don’t want to be out on Friday. Difference between you and them is they know how to say the word “no”.
OTOH, come lay off time all the times they’ve said no will be remembered.

If I were out every Friday, I would tolerate it for so long…
But there would come a point where it would be time to confront the ■■■■■■ and sort it.
More power to you when you do…remember the ■■■■ who has you out every Friday night will either be at home with family/friends/kids etc. or down the pub with mates…while you’re stuck in a lay-by somewhere. If you remember this while speaking to them you will doubtless give them the stick they deserve! 
Er just say you want 2 be finished by 5 latest , if they say they cant promise you that you will be home at a decent time just say fine the truck aint goin anywere then on friday ■■? i never ever had a fri out or ■■■ 2 that very few nites out at all , i remember wrkin on agency yonks ago 4 hanbury davies and i was on my way back frm london 2 there yard at 4 on a fri when i gt a fne call saying i had a reload in west london , i politely told em sorry but containers coming bak 2 ipswich mt and thats that ? wen i gt bak they had a rant i told em sorry but tough i told agency i finish early on fri and take it up wiv them … i dont think i was really cut out 4 this trucking game lol!!
Run on a sunday? Just say no? Yr not the only one i’m sure.

It never bothered me…Friday was probably the best one of the week…truck stop…few pints …the strippers…good laugh plus a few more quid just for running back in Saturday mng…piece of ■■■■.
I do a mon to fri/sat, most of the lads are back by fri. I don’t care, pulled over at 5 tonight. Night out money, setting off at 2, back at the yard for 9. Job done, min 45 off and do it all again.

Monday to Friday is plenty for me, I aint desperate for cash and id rather be home catching up with the social life!
You just gotta be able to say no and lay the law down as to what days/hours you are prepared to work.
Just because the EU have given laws as to what you can legally drive to it doesnt mean that you HAVE to drive to the max!!
