nope being stuck in hospitals for two weeks with my eldest boy 90 miles away from home
Yeah been out in it today, got on a bay at simarco on a slant, no grit took 25 mins of back and forwarding to get out.
Driving home and helped 2 cars out of the ditch. Yeah it’s crappy out there in parts but just drive as the weather predicts and all will be fine.
Saying that I came out of magna park earlier and no one was using the outside lane as it was snow covered, thought I’d wake them all up and overtook them all on the limiter, and low and behold it was a stobart driver holding the job up at the front doing 25mph, ■■■■■■■ doughnut!!
Safe travels all
Helped drag a Volvo out of this ditch.
But this young girl driver was pass help with a tow strap.
thought i would have a early start this morning as i was loading runcorn for kings lynn, got into ineos for 5.30 to load only to be told theres no acid…finally got out at 10.30. took 6 hours to get to kings lynn only to have the load turned away as there safety shower was frozen, now got to lug it up to huddersfield swap tanks and tip gatwick airport tomorrow afternoon…that is fun!
I was out in it today but have a day off tomorrow, and i am back in Sunday heading to Luton. I am like you, never have driven a truck in snow and mine is a auto to, should be fun

No wonder shes in the ditch going by the standard of driving in your area. (points to the car overtaking in the top right).
I’ve been out today multi drop food deliveries around bury at Edmunds…not much snow here more ice than anything.
Typical media whirlwind!!!
About a foot in Warwickshire, and the roads, that are open, are more slow/clogged with traffic than anything.
Going out later to play in the snow / take photos / although it might be interesting after 1am because the local street lights go off then
Nothing in Leeds until tea time, and now it’s snowing a little bit as it moves north eastwards.
I’m working tomorrow with a 04:30 start.
Can’t wait.
Ken.

Good lad
Did Holyhead to Bristol no problem. Took about an hour longer than normal but no real issues. Lots of snow. Would have got the delivery done was it not for everyone at customer being sent home. We give up too easily in this country

Err…I overtook quite a few cars and vans today. Proper winter tyres and a fair bit of winter driving experience does allow you to travel at more than the 5 to 10 MPH the the cars around Cannock and on Cannock Chase were going. Even the M6 from J7 to J11 was down to 50 MPH with the outside lane empty apart from myself in my van and a guy in a luton Transit managing 60 MPH on the snow covered 4th lane.
Some drivers seem to think you can’t drive on the white covered parts of the road.
I overtook 5 cars in one go on the A460 between Hednesford and Rugeley. Don’t think I was very popular though.
@big johns dad. I was having abit of banter …
I agree some people do drive to slow in this weather and its frustrating but hey ho.

Fair enough, my apologies. I thought it was your turn to wear the elf n safety ■■■■ outfit today.
It would be nice if those drivers who can’t drive in snow didn’t even attempt it, leaving the roads clearer for those that can.
I blame the schools for opening, and then closing early, forcing many car drivers to leave work early to pick up their kids.
Either don’t open the darned school in the first place or keep the kids in school till the normal chucking out time.

Im not the fastest driver, somewhere in the middle. Im quite happy to follow people if their taking it easy, they mite know something i dont?.. But its when people try to climb a hill at below 10mph then cause everyone else to spin out is what i find annoying.
I tipped Tonbridge at 10 this morn then empty back to Bristol, did it in just over 3hrs, quicker than usual due to there being so little traffic on the road. Then from Bristol I had to head up to the Brecon Beacons where I live, was home in the house by 3.30 Hope it snows next week
I drive an automatic, no issues driving in the snow, as others have said, give yourself plenty of room, no sudden braking etc, you’ll be fine.

First year I’ve put winter tyres on my car, it’s amazing how much difference they make on hard packed snow and ice.
Just got back to Norfolk from Tunbridge Wells the main roads are clear and virtually empty, people have been scared off. Still passed a queue of traffic doing about 50 mph on the A21 lane 2 not even covered in snow, but they wouldn’t go into it until I overtook then I saw a couple follow me out.
