I know where you mean, that’s the ‘none-licensed’ warehouse. for crisps, sweets, pop etc. They run it from there to Crewe and put it all together there. The two drivers who run up and down between the two do about nine or ten 30km round trips a day, every day. I did three one day last week and was bored as ■■■■!
Love the job, pays not bad but I have had few run-ins with what can only be described as bone head lorry drivers who want to end their lives and every one else’s around them who might happen to be in the vicinity of there vapour trail as they speed down a motorway on-slip on the near side
Not just happy - ecstatic
Recently returned to a job which I had when I first started driving. It was a lot harder then as it involved roping and sheeting, but now it
s all curtainsiders. Generally it
s one drop and return to base, as it is own-account. My hours have decreased to such an extent that Im not affected by the WTD, and the wages are ok for the amount of work I actually do - around 40 hours a week. I get an occasional run to Scotland, but mostly it
s day runs delivering to RDCs or Cash & Carry warehouses
