Can you get 11t on that? Nice motor, I reckon a 6w version of that would be great in terms of payload and narrow cab.

Thanks mate!

Actually looking forward to driving it tomorrow!

I think I have only ever had 3 absolutely brand new ones in 35 years, the rest were hand me downs although some were only a few weeks old.

TK Bedford
MAN Roadhaus
Volvo FM12

Yeah 11.5t actually. They don’t allow you to have have a 6wheeler with that cab, you then have to have a cf cab in daf’s case.

Good payload that. We get 11 on our FLEs but they have liners in them to protect the floors and help prevent loads sticking. It’s a shame they don’t do an LF 6wheeler as the payload would be good.

I have 6 wheeled LF’s in the past. A local timber company had one for roof trusses, maybe they discontinued it.

edit.
Just found this, could be a Renault and it’s on pram wheels. Not quite what I thought it was.

Blimey 300bhp in a four wheeler  , dad had an FL7 8wheeler and i think that was about 245ish bhp :frowning: , had a decent payload though and the bhp didn’t matter too much as we don’t have many big hills in Suffolk.
Looks a cracking truck Freddie, i would be tempted to stretch her and stick a tag axle on the back if Daf won’t put the smaller cab on a six wheeler.

I’m currently driving a 360bhp 4 wheeler, it’s a prime mover for the wag + drag at night, and has over 850,000km’s on it (I also drove it when it was brand new approx 5yrs ago), but considering it’s just drainage and plumbing anyway, there’s no weight when wag + drag, never mind on day work when it’s a 4 wheeler.
Doesn’t do any different to the 240bhp dedicated 4 wheelers though tbh, still loses speed on hills, still set off in a similar gear at a similar rate etc. But it’s a 4 over 4 with split, the 240bhp’s are 6 speed.

Isn’t it amazing how some grown men behave when there are new trucks on offer. :open_mouth:
I could sort of understand it if they were driving 15 years old wrecks, but normally with fleets that have new motors the rest are only a few years old.

I’m currently in a job which makes me more than happy! Regardless of new wagons etc!I’m 27 and I have an 05 MAN xxl which I’m more than happy with as my first artic on tramping duties! In my eyes I wouldn’t like a new wagon with only 4 years experience should I damage it or scratch it! Don’t get me wrong mine has a lot of things I would change but this day in age I’m happy to be in a job!
