Great idea if you want a massive pool of unemployed workers all desperate to work for less than the minimum wage which is how that idiot looked at it in the day when he was in charge and is probably what he’s still advising Cam and Clegg now hence the idea of making people work for unemployment ‘benefit’ rates of pay.So how does that idea create spending power in the economy

Motivates people to do the right things in life so as to avoid crap pay and jobs, unlike at the moment in welfare Britian. Singapore is a good example of this where most the population are now university graduates with a good standard of living.
So everyone has to be a graduate.Or an airline pilot and an MP like Tebbit and everyone else has to work for £65 per week. 
I don’t think that idea is going to provide the spending power on which to base a modern industrialised developed economy.But we haven’t had one of those since the early 1970’s and it shows.
