What’s the new nickname he’s using? Seemed very odd how it just got dropped, almost as if we’re only getting part of the story

Cant’ remember new name.

I would tend to agree with you.

It went suddenly quiet, bit like the thread about the DAF that broke down pulling a load of bullets to wherever it was in Euroland for those of you that remember that.

Ian Young!

Oh how we laughed!

Cyprus via Bulgaria or some strange trip with a policeman in tow wasn’t it?

Did we ever get a final outcome?

Last I remember was they’d flown back to the UK leaving the truck to be repaired in some far flung corner of Europe.

Why are people so keen to post about their ongoing exploits, (which are often very interesting) but when it goes wrong, never return to tell us all what happenned?

I think Rob touched on the final outcome when his house in Stoke was firebombed with a tin of Right Guard or something :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember Mr Youngs thread well LOLOL

I was about the only person who was brave enough to say the complete opposite of everyone else, get slaughtered for it yet at the same time get loads of PMs agreeing with me!!

This was the story of the ‘house fire’ and the flak I took

since we are re visiting threads what happened to that guy who went to milan to do some bulk tipping. Had his passport taken off him and allegedly had a gun put to his head and some people on here offered to pick him up in a helicopter under armed guard in the middle of the night! Lol lol

That was Laim, sorry Liam

IIRC He came back from Milan, posted again saying he couldn’t talk about it, & disappeared.

Yes,I remember.Wasn’t he saying that he was warned off posting by some undesirables who were checking this forum? Oh,and while we’re on about mysteries-anyone know the outcome of Heritage Int’l 's missing driver? Or is the police investigation still ongoing?

This thread has turned into the Crimewatch Update, you know, the bit after the news.

Don’t have nightmares

I have checked that thread a few times about the Heritage guy. Was tempted to ring Neville up and find out what happened. Another one that ‘died a death’. I do so hate it when threads are left up in the air. I could never find out if Mr Young got done for arson or not LOL

Whilst reading the Ian Young link, another name popped up…what happened to North Surrey Haulage after all the aggro with his new FH? I remember meeting him around Grimsby way not long after he got it and telling him the roof spoiler was the wrong one, it was for a Globetrotter, not an XL, im sure he said he couldnt open/close his sunroof cos of it, but Volvo insisted it was the right spoiler. (which it was’nt, you can tell the difference between a Globetrotter spoiler and an XL spoiler a mile off) I know NSH went on to do a bit of continental (Spain i think) and that dried up/didnt work out, but what happened after?

Ah yes, Sean !  Sean and I had some very ‘lively’ discussions about the merits of being an O/D  and I believe it was during said discussions that a certain well known phrase involving confectionary was born :open_mouth: .

As much as I used to mock him and his O/D endeavours I did really feel sorry for him with all that BS he was having to endure from Volvo with that 5pm [zb]box FH he had. That was real bad luck and he didn’t deserve any of that. I sincerely hope he’s recovered financially from it all and is doing well for himself these days. :bulb:

I used to park opposite sean in tilbury dock. Our XL’s had that spoiler too. Volvo started putting them on as an option for high trailers. They’re very common now. As for the man himself, I haven’t seen him in person since he packed up. I see the Volvo with a bulker behind it from time to time. He is Jonah on here now and I think he’s a self employed free lance driver now
