Who`s the best isp

Orange are going up in price and I think they are messing with the bandwdth at certain times of the month so I am looking for one at a reasonable price to do my home phone and home internet.

Doesn`t have to be the cheapest but lax on this fair usage crap would be handy.

Think BT are about £40 a month for what I require but is anyone better.

Dial up only.

Sorry if this is post number 1 million but searching is doing my head in.

Why are you using dial-up?

No cable in my area so its through the phone line or nowt.

Looked like sky where doing a great deal but I cant get unlimited as that’s not in my area either.

Think its a population issue as there’s not enough interest to justify cable due to population, the further kind of north west you go and after my town its basically the highlands with a few villages till the next semi large town about sixty miles away.

I use BT broadband option 3 only £25 a month and you get cheap calls using the hub phone that comes with the router. Never had any problems with it

Cheers was thinking BT and had a look at unlimited phone and internet for £40.

I watch a lot of movies on the free streaming sites and wanted one that doesn`t choke the bandwith to save cash so hopefully BT will be fine.

Thanks.

Have you looked at O2 or Be? (Same company, O2 bought Be), they give me 20Mbit here (in Zomerzet oooarrr), with unlimited use for 22 quid a month (with a fiver a month off if you have an O2 phone - and prepay counts  )

Cheers I am on 02 but had no idea that they did the internet.

Yours will be cable though but that sounds perfect.

Think the gov. are looking into making cable available everywhere but will check 02 for prices in my area cheers.

I see its not cable but my exchange box hasn`t been updated for the higher speeds. :imp:

Still 8 meg at £7.34 with 2 months free sounds great.

Cheers.

Actually, the 20mbit on my line is through a BT line, not a cable one.

Yes mate sorry I edited my post after I visited the 02 site.

They carry out work on the exchange to get speeds up to that but as I posted I live in a backwater.

Don’t get the access product, it ■■■■■, if you can get the proper account it’s fine. If you’re a techy, the routers O2 supply are horrible, fine for a home user tho.
