Who’s paying for the low loader

I’d of thought they’d of just took some of the load off until they got to the correct weight , it seems a bit extreme to load the van on a low loader & drive it to a port , as I say who’s paying for the low loader ? Or is this normal procedure in the event of a foreign vechicle being stopped over weight ?

Could it be that the load was not divisible ?

At over 30% overload it was lucky if he only got fixed penalty and tow away I think.

The driver/operator of the van should be paying in full, before the van gets to leave the country.
No cheques etc accepted.

Could be tacho

He maybe paying franglais , but if he is I bet it’s costing him for a low loader to a port from Grantham area

It won’t be some cut-rate outfit who can squeeze the job in some time next month. As you say it’ll be top $.

Edit…and the van still has to get off the other side too… Maybe it will partly transhipped. split down after the crossing?

I think I’ve seen this before somewhere and the actual truck, empty, weighed in at 5 tonnes and therefore was over the plated,3.5 t, weight and couldn’t be driven anywhere!
The photo doesn’t do it justice-it has a huge overhang, the rear axle being virtually in the middle of the body.
