As the title says
Not me i enjoy my job got a good gig and dont get any hassel.
Wouldn’t mind going into part time driving or being do warehouse/driver.
Sticking with it for the experience but driving is boring.
Quit driving in April and been retired ever since and loving it. I’ll never drive a truck again and don’t miss it at all, just feel sorry for those left having to put up with all the crap that comes with the job.
Mine definitely, as I have a cunning plan.
To correctly guess 6 numbers.
I would not even look at another ■■■■ truck as long as I lived, and change my licence to car only
30th July 2011 I retired
It was mine 2 years ago and I I got out 18 months ago . Not daft enough to say never again but will do my best not to get back behind the wheel . There are things I miss but they are are not really what the jobs about these days any way
No, I’m not old enough to retire and I’m too old to re-train to do anything else, so I’ll carry on doing what I do, which is driving trucks from September to March, saving up as much as I can and then spending the Summer pottering around in my preferred mode of transport- which is also my home- until the money runs out. Then rinse and repeat.
First trip next year is to Llangollen, then down to London for a run along the tidal Thames, then Bristol. Don’t know after that.

Youre just being lazy and feckless RobRoy. After all someone gets the 6 numbers nearly every week, so it can
t be that hard.

Often thought of going down that road myself

I paid £23,200 for her, standing costs are around £2,000 a year (Licence £700, mooring £700, insurance £200, maintenance £400-ish) diesel is about 75ppl and it uses about 0.8 litres of diesel an hour, I need to run the engine for 1-2 hours a day to charge the batteries and heat the domestic water. Coal for the stove is quite pricey, I use about £15’s worth a week at this time of year. All in all about £200 a month I suppose. Still a hell of a lot cheaper than renting a flat though.

If you find it boring maybe you should try a different driving job,I like the variety.

Excellent, done it twice for holidays, wish I had the balls to do it full time.
I’ve said it every year since 2012
when I turned 65. I’ve just renewed it again last week for the very last time!!
Although now I only work occasional shifts,( I went to Immingham yesterday evening). When I had my medical earlier this month, on leaving, the doc said to me, quote: I will look forward to not seeing you again about the same time next year. Regards Kev.

Mmmm food for thought, a nice set of solar panels on the roof and an electric motor and I could save on the Diesel.
Tin hat on while laughing quietly in my trench.
I’m not sure why anybody would want to give up such a well paid and rewarding job.
