Who owns Stobarts

kjw21:
(Maybe rumour again) - but I heard they make their money out of warehousing and storage and hardly make a profit at the haulage aspect

Nothing unusual in that… it has been like that for years with any company!!! There IS more money in storage etc than in pulling the same stuff.

Pullto park is not too far away

Eddie Stobart was bought out by WA Developments. WA Developments was owned by his brother William Stobart and Andrew Tinkler. WA Developments has since been renamed Stobart Rail and falls under the auspices of the Stobart Group, which lists it’s directors as Eddie Stobart, James Irlam, Stobart Ports, Stobart Properties and Stobart Rail. Confusing…!

It is a credit to see what these two local lads have done from humble beginings and to see the number of people they now employ all over GB and elsewhere.
In our area (■■■■■■■■ they are struggling with petted local councils and other groups to move forward with there business including the development of Carlisle airport as a center for Stobart haulage and a viable airport for the future of ■■■■■■■■
After the failure to agree with the council in Penrith on the terms on the proposed headquarters of Wa/Stobart on the now vacant industrial estate next to the M6 they moved the scheme to Carlisle to try again ,
I worked with WA when they only had 20 employees and know Andrew Tinkler personally he is a good man and deserves what he and his companies are trying to acheive in our area against the nimbys who want tourism and retirement areas, not haulage and real jobs,
So what chance have they got
PS I don,t work for them.

Exactly the same reason that Alconbury, Wolverhampton etc are closed down.

Whether it is Stobart, TDG, Dentressangle, DHL or Wincanton. These big groups are the future of road haulage.

all wrong im affraid, the company is actually owned by the old scottish couple who travel round the uk on the pretence that they are ‘eddie spotters’ if fact they are just keeping tabs on the drivers!. they made the money to buy the company off the back of selling morman bibles whilst out on the road!. there you go god’s honest truth as told from a driver at an rdc who knew them personally…well he knew a bloke who knew a bloke who went to school with the couples son’s tennis coach,…

Beverley Bell is a shareholder too :stuck_out_tongue:

as reguards to tesco/ stobarts and who owns who,
rbs own 40% of stobarts as in loans ect… and tesco own rbs, well thats the talk around here and we are/were a stobart site.

Tesco own RBS utter tosh
loaning money to someone dosnt mean you own them

Sounds like someone has their wires crossed I know all of the loans credit cards and insurance services that Tesco offer are infact RBS ones as my sister in law does loan application processing for RBS and told me that

RBS is owned by LloydsTSB

I got shares in LloydsTSB so that means i own RBS:) (well about 0.000001%)
