Who has the biggest?

Depends if you are talking just trucks or fleets with vans and trucks, throw van/truck fleets into the equation and I know a fleet of around 1,800 vehicles, anything outside of England,Wales,Scotland is handled by subbies or a couple of joint ventures.

Are you classing N.I. as over the water ?

most supermarkets and high street stores send trailers if not trucks over there.

I would have thought Downtons are close but then again do they send Pets at Home trucks across to Ulster ?

Some of the larger Bulk transport companies such as Agribulk may be in with a chance of being the biggest UK only company.

We got about 70 now in 6 depots. Do WH Macolm’s go abroad, cant recall seeing any over there? Jenkinsons, Prestons of Potto or Pollocks.

Suedehead:
Do Royal mail go over,if not its probably them .

They definately used to…ive seen them in Belguim and on the old Sally ferry from Ramsgate - Dunkirk.

Dave the Renegade:
Wincanton at a glance- a leading provider of supply chain solutions
250 sites across the UK and Ireland

Think youve answered the question there Dave

What about Bougheys ?

Used to see Hungarian and German registered Wincanton trucks. What about Maritime, they got a fair few.

A fair bit smaller.

Sure wincanton do or did go over for B&Q Swindon iirc

How about Yodel.
The biggest company you never notice.

Yodel was formed by the merger of Home Delivery Network and DHL Domestic.

Since the original company, Littlewoods, they have never rebranded any trailers or vans. That’s why most people don’t realise just how big the fleet is.

approx 3000 trailers
approx 7000 vehicles

On the road tomorrow see how many of the following trailers you can spot.
Yodel
DHL yellow with the logos removed.
Reality
White Arrow Express
Business Express
Littlewoods

There was only 1 trailer ever liveried up as Home Delivery Network.

Supermarket fleets are quite big into the 1000,s.

What about W H Malcolm do they go over the water ?

B&Q Swindon is a DHL site. As are others like TK Maxx, Iceland, Boots and many many others.

I know a lot are O/Ds, but a hell of a lot of trucks in Maritime’s colours!

How about Robert wiseman dairies?

I remember being told when I worked there years ago they were the biggest commercial customers for volvo in the whole of Europe. No idea if that was true or not though.

They certainly used too. Two in orkney (Kirkwall and Stromness) and one in Shetland (Lerwick)

No ones mentioned the mighty maritime
