I’ve always liked Stuart Nicol’s trucks. Nice colours, always kept clean and not too much bling on them.Ive always thought Stuart Nicols wagons are smart as well but are we thinking of the same outfit if you dont think theyre too blingy? Most of the ones I see have more lights than a branch of B&Q!
There are quite a few of his trucks which aren’t full of bling. Granted there are a few which do look like they’ve got themselves tangled up in Christmas tree lights. [emoji1]
Dukes Transport had a very clever and smart livery, back in the 80’s & 90’s you couldn’t drive the M6/M1 without seeing more than one Dukes motor. Their livery was very clever in the fact that is was very bright and noticeable and everyday people seemed to notice and remember the name Dukes. When trucks and trailers went for MOT in Portadown the bottom half of the vehicle was resprayed (red) and any damage to white bodywork was touched up as required. With a good clean up and the bottom half resprayed the trucks and trailers came back into service looking like new tackle. It is real shame that plain white or over the top blingy motors seem to have become the norm for livery appreciation when plain and simple has always been a winner.

When it comes to liveries, not enough attention is paid to trailers I don’t think. For me, there is little point having a nice livery unless the trailer behind you is completing the look.In my eyes, a clean & tidy bog standard DAF with a good looking trailer behind it in a matching colour (Waitrose for example), looks a better rig than a blinged up FH750 pulling some plain battered old trailer in the wrong colour.
Thats me then, new FH700 pulling battle scarred ex Norfolk Line VanHool and LAG tilts…the VH’s are tough as old boots though, probably outlast anything made now…
The LWB 4x2’s with side side air kits always look so clean and aerodynamic.

Yep totally agree with you those side kits really finish off a truck with the 4 leggers looking the best .
Last lot, apologies for separate post’s (it is the first time I have posted pictures!) and ‘fat finger’ appearance!
Well I think our lot are the best of the supermarket bunch…

Specced my FH with full air kit and low fifth wheel to get the overall height down to 3.9 M pulling a VanHool. Always going to be more aerodynamic than a 6x2 but surprised more UK hauliers dont do more to improve air flow, big gaps around fuel/air tanks/ battery boxes ect all add to drag and higher fuel consumption. Its just something that doesnt seem to have caught on in the UK…
Me in my all plain white tractor and box trailer combo get a fair few stares. That might be because of the adonis behind the wheel though.
YMMV

Interesting to know how much the cost would be versus how much you’ll save on fuel or rather how long it’ll take to get your money back.
