Who has superiority limper vs fulltime

1.is superiority even a word?
however…suppose you are a class 1 limper…do you take superiority over a class 2 or 3 full time driver because you have a class 1…or…does the fact that the class 2 or 3 driver isnt a limper and holds a proper full time job ,then is he deemed to have the superior position in the pecking order?
we all now that if you are in full time employent and hold a class 1 then you reign high in superiority over all other mortals.
personally even though i obviously am a class 1 driving god, then i secretly think that wagon and drag drivers have the most challenging occupation as when it goes ■■■■ up in an artic, you can mostly wriggle out of it,but in a wagon and drag, then its a chinook airlift job to get you turned, however…kindly discuss the merits of the aforementioned occupations…including…
does being a limper qualify you as having an occupation?

Ahum… have you seen Dutch drivers with wagon and drag combinations blindside into spaces barely wider than their trailer? No need to call the air support my friend.

(Thinking about it, Germans are a dap hand with combinations too. And many of our Viking brothers wouldn’t embarrass themselves either… )

Nice links DD , just spent half hour watching vids of the trucks on that mountain road. Brought back some good memories of when I used to go across the Alps, before the Autoroute Blanche etc.

Well, if you want to spend 48 weeks a year driving a truck, then full-time is superior, if you want to spend 16 weeks a year driving a truck and 36 weeks a year bimbling around the canals on a narrowboat then limping is superior. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll see your 16 weeks driving as a limper, and raise you 21 weeks driving, employed and salaried. :grimacing:

As i have now got all my pension from UK,NL and Sweden and only work 2-5 Days a month, and just enjoy Life for the rest does that make me a 'limper’or totally crippled.

This limper has just finished watching The Grand Tour sat at home on £11/hr because as I set off to go to work the agency called me to say my work was cancelled and then sent me a text to say I was still going to get paid. So I’m typing this from the comfort of my favourite chair in my lovely warm house with a tinnie on the table next to me and getting paid to boot.

I have turned off my bluetooth earpiece though and my Tesco carrier bag is back in the drawer until Monday.

So hard being a limper…

Fair play. You should however save all them £11’s for when you need to fund your next DCPC, medical, digi card or workplace pension. Just a thought.

Whatever happened to a little class …

I’ve done a fair variety of stuff over the years, employed, self-employed, had my own truck, but I’m limping at the moment and it suits me.

I needed to earn a bit of money over the Winter, I’m living on my boat at the moment and while it is hugely enjoyable, for reasons I won’t bother you with I have to gear my job around that. So I went to an agency and said “I want a Monday to Friday job, no nights out, I can’t start before six in the morning and I can’t work after six in the evening, I’ll sometimes need to take time off at short notice and I’ll be leaving in March or April” and they said “Fine, we’ve got just the job for you” which I can’t see (say) Stobarts saying if I said the same to them at interview.

The agency’s client I work for has already offered me a permanent job working directly for them and I said “No thanks”. :stuck_out_tongue:

no offence intended Dieseldog999 but posts like this I get bored with,no one as far as I am concerned is superior to anyone else I give respect to everyone I meet, does not matter if they drive vans,7.5 tonne, hgv 2,or hgv 1 or even if they are agency all get respect from me,if I get respect they will get it back,i am hgv 1 with 27 years experience,i do not think I am superior to other drivers, irrelevant of what they drive, why we keep on about agency drivers is beyond me,i would have thought it was done to death by now, while there are some bad apples in the agency game the same could be said for full timers, quite a majority of agency drivers have vast experience driving all types of vehicles and for one reason or another do not want full time work, what is wrong with that.
