This day 50 years ago arrived the " MS Fairland " in the most important European ports . A historic event , because the cargo ship had 226 containers on board . It was the beginning of a completely changed global transport structure : beer , textiles, paper , coffee, bananas and many other goods were shipped from now on in giant metal boxes . Since that link is from 2006, I reckon April 26 2016 was the 60th anniversary of first container voyage?

Its from 2day I just searched a Page in English and didnt check there date
No damage done. So, it`s 3rd May 1966 that first container ship docked in Rotterdam.
But who came up wth the idea of a multimodal container in England?
Hint it was the same person who shut a lot of railway lines here
