Hope this link still works as the item has ended. Did somebody say there was no money about?
Crikey !
Somehow I don’t think the winning bidder will pay.
a freind of mine had a fantic chopper 50cc thing back in the early seventies.looked the business at the time.
Had a Tomahawk first then got a Chopper…
Then when i got into getting old bits of bikes and build them into hi-breds…took an old chopper… changed the front forks to a 20" wheel and an pld wheel from a old racing bike… looked the dogs knackers…
EASY RIDER…!!!
Yes I had one. I can still remember seeing it in its packaging - pale blue one. Great at the time. By 1975 it was getting more than a bit embarrassing though, a bit like when skateboards first went out of fashion. Wish I’d kept it at the above price.
I had a purple one and one day I pulled a wheelie on it and the bolt holding the handlebars to the frame snapped, and over I went arse over ■■■.
My sister had a Tomahawk bike as well.
Ken.
jeesus wish i hadnt left mine on the pavement for the bin wagon to back over now
Stick Shift. Sturmey Archer Box Flotation Tyres
15k +
That is barmy, normally you cannot get a bid on ebay with a push bike
I cant imagine somebody going to collect it with 15k in a carrier bag, handing it over and happily taking that rusty old bike away. If I payed 15k for a bike it would need to have Ducati or MV on the tank.
A mate if mine just restored these, think he’s sold them now, I had the Raleigh striker with the back pedal brake
Had a mk1 Chopper which my dad repainted (thanks to a pal who worked at Raleigh) into a black mk2… wish I still had it now
Hiya the chopper was realised to celibrate 750,000 choppers that also was the time of the queens silver jubliee
the choppers was made for a 6 month period(making them rare)1976/77. the genuine limited addition bikes
have a “N” (for nottingham) and a 6 or7 in the first numbers to be origanal… they had a drum brake on the rear
wheel…some very very rare ones have drum brakes on the front… the cost new was £71… 28p… £4 more than
standard choppers

No good in Rhodesia, no tarmac.
My best mate and I got jobs in a bakery on nights after doing our A-levels. We used to cycle to work every night. As kids I was really jealous of his Chopper; I only had an ordinary bike with 10 gears and drop handlebars. He really looked a pratt riding to work every night on his Chopper
He works in TV these days, so I’d better not say too much

Plenty of Tarmac, just have to avoid all the spear chuckers with bones through their noses and Lions and Elephants that roam freely round the towns and cities that are all made of mud and grass.
There’s a chopper stuck on the wall of a building in Plymouth. I saw it today, very tidy.
I’m young I had a Raleigh burner
