waiting for the 22.30 ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki, then off to Tromsø for a saturday lunchtime offload. Then back empty to Oulu, Finland for a monday reload.

Ughh crew rest. 1 hour trying to stop thinking with 1 further hour fitful and restless sleep before being awoke with a start with a loud buzzer on the wall hailing you back to station from the flight deck. No taking time out to watch tv and wake up with a coffee. Back to the seat and straight into being briefed on what’s happening then your handed control. Horrid feeling.Crew rest on B747-400F0
I think a lot of us on here would kill to be in your position, despite all the negatives you’ve listed. You must see some great views up there? I know my missus has seen the northern lights a few times while sat up front on a break.

Hey ! I’ve been to Goose Bay, for all of one hour. One of the passengers developed chest pains and we had to divert there to get him off. It was the middle of January and it was like landing at the North Pole. Completely desolate except for this one town called Goose Bay.
Very often, my missus has to sit in the cockpit due to this ‘two persons on the flight deck at any one time’ rule. A couple of months ago she said she was sat in the Captain’s seat over the Atlantic. “Wow”'I said, “that must’ve been fantastic?” “Not really” she said, “pretty boring in fact. Just lots of sky.” Blimey, I’d love to have been sat there but she was completely unimpressed. Women eh !

My wife was chatting to a pilot about it in the crew bus. He said that it wouldn’t take much for a pilot to disable her or one of her colleagues, even if it mean’t using the knife or fork off the meal tray, and then still down the aircraft. It just depends if the pilot has the nerve to attack and possibly kill a fellow crew member in order to achieve his objective??
Obviously I don’t know for certain, but I somehow don’t think that Germanwings pilot would’ve had the nerve to attack a fellow crew member.

Who knows, it was a waste of innocent lives & a waste of 320, loads of people would give their right arm to fly one & not crash it into the side of a mountain:!:
