White van man rage in rochdale

Radar19:
Driving that slow causes problems as it forces other road users to take risks.

They aren’t forced to take risks. :unamused:

Just bad judgements :unamused:

ckm1981:
The guy with then camera was fanning the flames by driving so slow, look how far the bus got away from him he must have been trundling along at 10mph,buses are hardly known for their acceleration performance but he left mr camera man way behind.
Maybe Mr camerman went out of his way to wind someone up to test his new toy (the camera) out■■?

+1…pair of pricks

Think youve nailed it and what concerns me is this will be come more and more common…

That said mr van man should still have got a good slap at the garage, unfortunately this mans dashcamera is a substitute for his bollox…

Really do not see where you lot are coming from with the driver driving slow, it’s a built up area with a bus in front of you. You naturally leave a bigger gap so your view of the road ahead is increased and your chance to overtake is increased A. By a better view and B. By having a good run at it as you have the space in front of you. At the lights the bus does pull away quite quickly maybe just caught the fella unawares.

This guy was behind him literally 30 seconds. If it was a high cube van the fella behind probably couldn’t even see the road ahead to be antagonised by the guys driving.

Astra van has got a serious screw loose and that’s all this thread should be about it, the only thing the dashcam done wrong was to block him off, am sure a lot of folk on here would do the same. Not a veil of red mist just a light dusting of it.

Dave you seem to have some sort of issue with dashcams. Take it you have been nailed by a dashcam lol so i can understand you being so against them.

Nope never had my 15mins of fame but see where this is heading.

I’m just not a fan of squealing on others for things that are everyday occurences and especially then posting videos trying to get another driver prosecuted when the dashcammer is not whiter than white themselves and should man up and sort this out there and then.
That said some things are inexcusable (like driving on the pavement to gain an inagined advantage) which is where my argument falls down a bit and I also enjoy watching the videos…

I will be getting a dashcam myself as soon they will be a standard fit on new vehicles anyway and it will be silly not to have one.

I’m pretty sure if every moment of madness / bad judgement / or just bad luck of mine was caught on camera I would no longer have a clean licence.

+1

As I said before though, it was obvious the white van man had issues - a screw loose - whatever you want to call it, so if you’re going to block him off as you put it, you have to be prepared to back it up when it escalates, either that or be the bigger man and let the ■■■■■■■■■ go away.

The driver with the dash cam escalated the situation by driving dangerously himself to block a van off who’d just driven up a kerb and then pood his pants.

In this particular clip though, the van driver seemed to be going at a ridiculously slow speed and was effectively creating a rolling roadblock for no obvious reason.

Perhaps he was worried about an idiot behind him? If he wants to drive slowly, that’s up to him and he’s doing nothing wrong by doing so. It it still doesn’t excuse undertaking on the pavement!

The biggest failure on UK driving tests was ‘failing to make progress’ i.e. going too slowly and holding everyone else up without reasonable cause.

For the past few months I’ve had lorries riding right on my rear bumper on the M6 roadworks through Stafford which is a strict 50mph speed limit enforced by a battery of average speed cameras. I still keep rigidly to 50mph though, I don’t be a pratt and suddenly slow down as appreciate those guys have a days work to do.

Whilst I don’t agree with the numpty going up the footpath, I can well appreciate people getting frustrated behind this ‘Dawdling Doris’. The bus is a dot away in the distance…

Yes i agree dave you wont be able to pick yer nose but someone will be recording you. I got mine purely for my protection. I have reported drivers for dangerous stuff . But not for little mr meaners.
we are the guys moaning about the standards of driving from all road users. These dashcams will clear the innocent and nail the guilty

Can i recommend the nextbase 402g professional £140 from halfords does everything the expensive top of the range roadhawk ,vue garmin ect. Came first in a which survey and top in road express magazine

What i like about it is it comes with a HDMI Cable and port so you can review your footage on the tv at home. Thats where you can see the quality of the recordings
