Whiplash claim

My good wife had someone hit the back of her car back in March and she put a claim in for whiplash, now the thing is she was offered £ 2,200 pretty quickly but turned it down due to the fact it was not getting better, in fact its been getting werse and she now has a tingling sensation in her neck and right arm and is booked in for an MRI scan soon. The question is do you know anyone who has put a claim in and what was the first offer and how did that compare with the second or final offer. I know these claims put up car insurance but this is genuine believe it or not as she’s had to give up her beloved swimming.

I know when my Dad knocked into the back of some bloke because he’d slammed the anchors on for no reason (which btw left no mark what so ever on my dads car or the blokes minibus), the bloke was fine and then a couple of weeks later puts in a claim for £7000 on the grounds of whiplash :open_mouth: His reason was it had made him give up his hobby, of watching football on the telly. :unamused:

we had claims last year for g.f +daughter,if i remember right g.f was in 4kregion,daughter was 3k +,daughter was injured [attended hospital],g.f didnt attend hospital   ,but was sent by claims solicitor to see a physio,we found it was taking 3/4 months to go up £100 in end so just took money, you could go on years for 4/500, ,weve now got claims in this year for daughter,g.f,both seen physio, had no offers yet.
sister in law had 6k years ago for being shunted from behind, she should have got more as backs now had it.
what figure did you solicitor recommend, ours reconded ours was worth more but admitted it would take years to get to what he wanted
2k sound very low to me,i certainly wouldnt accept that

The first offer came quick but she was never going accept that cos she was injured but no further offers have been discussed as of yet. The trouble is due to lack of good treatment her injuries are slowly getting werse. She was a passenger and apparently its werse for them cos they got no steering wheel to brace themselves with.

which is what we found in end it can be a month/two just to get a extra £100,if your mrs is getting worse id hang on,sister in law should of,6k sounds alot but in long term its nothing, but 2k still sounds a very low first offer

The first offer I think is to test wether you want to take the money and run which is what the driver done ( my missus was the passenger ) cos she needed the money quick, but you mentioned 6 k that’s a bit more like what my missus should get at least as 7 months later she’s getting werse.

I would say dont be in a hurry to get a settlement here.I was knocked off my bike a couple of years ago and still have pains from the crash.Wait until her medical condition stabilises if it is going too then get professional advice.

No we are not going to settle until it’s all done and dusted, she should be getting an MRI scan appointment coming through the post soon so hopefully that will show what’s up, she’s worried that she might have to have an op and be off work but because she’s self employed she can claim all that back in the final settlement.
