“Surprisingly” I was asked to cover Easter holidays of another driver while I was having mine and of course I was stupid enough to say yes. I was hoping for summery weather but that wasn’t exactly what I got, at least during Monday…
At Sunday evening I had parked at empty lorry park but during night few others had also arrived there:
Logger carrying scrap wood like twigs, branches and stumps out of the woods to be used in energy production. Quite odd sight to see a daycab R620.
Another Scania working for wood industry. I think this one is usually hauling various side products from sawmills like wood chips.
Quite basic chemical tanker.
Quite usual Sisu tipper and as you notice that very slight snow fall in previous pictures has ceased by now so weather begun to seem very nice.
Oh my. It seems I was rejoicing too early. At least traffic was very light so there weren’t much of fear someone trying suicidally overtake me. Or at least I didn’t see any such attempts through that huge snow cloud I began to drag behind my trailer.
That snowfall last about 15 to 20 minutes and it accumulated about 10 cm of “frosty snow” so it didn’t cause any real trouble. I’m sorry for not having any pictures during that snowfall but I was too busy trying to see where road was. In this picture I’ve just coupled to trailer on a bus stop after doing collection (at the wrong side of the road, I know
).
10 km to the south and weather was summery again although trip computer begun to show warning about slippery roads on the dashboard. There were also couple other snowfalls during the day but they didn’t drop more than few cm’s of snow to the ground. No more pictures from Monday as camera’s batteries began to ran down.
At Tuesday batteries had gathered some charge on warm place on top of dashboard and I was again getting warnings of slippery roads. Here is basic 1843 Actros which happened to be in such position that it had no possibilities of avoiding my camera.
Very empty motorway at Tuesday evening and not a slightest sign of a snow at southern coast of Finland as I’m running to meet another driver who’s relieving me.
